“Lovely Stay”
The Hotel was lovely -- nice rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff -- it was excellent. The Spa was also nice and while they did mess up the treatment request, it didn't matter because the massages were great. The restaurant was also delicious (we went to Alfresco), but U.S. travellers be warned. The UK is MUCH more expensive. For a normal dinner, the four of us paid $300
“Great place to stay, relax and have spa treatments”
Excellent visit
“Very enjoyable”
The room was spacious by Euro standards, the bathroom fitted with nice old white marble counters and trim, modern fixtures, Molten & Brown products. Thick white towels, white waffle robes and slippers. Complimentary tea service and electric water pot which was great for a hot cup of tea day or night. Staff was great, the spa pool and steam rooms were a fantastic extra included in the room rate...pack a swimsuit. The surronding grounds and garden are beautiful. I ate breakfast in the dining room...standard menu in an uncrowded, lovely dining room with a view of a garden. I ordered room service one night and very pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the fish and chips..not greasy and their take on a Greek salad. The freshest, most crisp greens with a slightly dijon tasting dressing. I was there in Jan. and due to cold temp didn't choose to walk into town. I took a taxi for @ 5-6 Euros which got me into the center of the any shops or attractions I wanted to see. Once in town you can't get everywhere on foot. To meet friends at a restaurant on the other side of town cost @ 7-8 Euros by taxi at night. The only down side about the hotel was no Wi-Fi service. I had to purchase vouchers for desired lengths of access. Overall very happy with my stay and felt it was a great room rate for the comfort.
“A good stay”
We loved our room and the Spa was good with a good range of treaments. the staff were very friendly and helpful. breakfast is excellent. Dinner was a bit pricey, good quality but too much presentation rather than value in my opinion. It is our second stay and we will go back.
“Would stay here for all my visits to Bath”
Worth all of the five star rating
“Amazing spa hotel”
Great setting and lovely spa.
“Picture post card location”
This hotel is superbly located a short distance from all major tourist attractions on beautiful landscaped grounds. Accomodations are luxurious and staff is professional. Not cheap, but worth the cost. Go and enjoy.
“Very nice”
The Macdonald Bath Spa was very nice. Staff were surprisingly friendly. It is about a 20 minute uphill walk from the train station, but it is well worth it. I would certainly go back!
