“Excellent location with fantastic breakfast”
We stayed here for 2 nights before and one night after cruise. The hotel is in excellent location, just 2 blocks from major hub of city Plaza Cantalynja where Areobus from airport to city. Just walk 2 blocks from the stop to hotel. Costing 5.3 Euro each way. The location is right at city center, walking to La Rambla & major sights. Breakfast is very good with lots of choices. Staff was very helpful. We arrived at 9Am from the cruise & they let us check in the room at the time. The rooms were nice and clean. The hotel is an old building with lots of antique looking furnishing, nice and clean. The free WIFI & 2 computers for use in the common areas. The prices were very good booking through expedia including breakfast. I will definetly stay here again on my next visit
“Lovely mid-budget hotel, fantastic location”
The lobby and public areas of the hotel are beautiful, and the location (safe, central, and easy to get anywhere by metro) was fantastic for my too-short stopover in Barcelona. My room was definitely "budget" with spare furnishings and one window to the airshaft, but considering the nightly rate I was very satisfied with the hotel staff -- accommodating and friendly -- and the cleanliness of the room. Will definitely consider staying here again!
“Great location! Free Internet!”
The location couldn't be better: a metro station just across the street and a couple of blocks from Plaça de Catalunya e La Rambla. Free Internet was also a great plus. Breakfast was great, but it could be a little less expensive (no problems, you can find tons of places to have your breakfast just next door). Air conditioning was disabled because it was still spring, which was unfortunate because we got 80+ degrees in late April.
“I would go back”
The hotel was clean, quiet, and near metro. We arrived at the train station and it was an easy metro ride to the hotel. The staff speak English quite well.
“Well-Run Hotel in Near-Ideal Location”
We checked in 28 June 2006 for six nights, having reserved on Expedia. Everything was in order upon arrival and the room was just as expected, based on the pictures on Expedia. We had requested a non-smoking room and there was no trace of smoke in our room. The room was immaculate upon arrival and was kept in good shape for our entire stay. Laundry service was perfect, with one-day turnaround and no hassles. Our room was in back and was very quiet. At times, we heard a little noise from next door, but nothing really significant. The only fault I could find with the room was that there was no in-room control of the air-conditioning. It ran (quietly) 24 hours a day and kept the room cool -- too cool according to my wife, who had to pile on blankets at night. It would have been nice to be able to turn the A/C off, but everything is centrally controlled. Breakfast was OK, but I was happier walking a block or so to an outdoor cafe on Passeig Gracia. The location is near-perfect for a tourist. You are about 3 blocks from Placa Catalunya, the center of Barcelona. Las Ramblas is another long block away. We preferred walking on Passeig Gracia and La Rambla de Catalunya, which start 1 or 2 blocks from the hotel. Also, there is excellent bus service, with stops very close to the hotel, and will take you right to Mont Juic and other attractions. Highly recommended, unless you are bothered by too much air conditioning.
“Charming Hotel”
The hotel is good, clean and bufet breakfast is quite good too. Hotel building is fantastic, you will love it.
“Gran Via”
My wife, daughter and I stayed here for two nights. The hotel was very pleasant, the staff helpful and friendly and the room was very comfortable with a nice bath/shower and comfortable beds. Our room had air conditioning although not all do. We were at the back looking into a central courtyard so there was little noise despite it being on the main street. Very well positioned for all the main attractions and the metro/tube. A small point is that the hotel is on the left of the street as you drive in to Barcelona from the C31 NOT the right as indicated by the pin on the expedia map, as the street is eight lanes wide with tree lined walkways it was about half an hour before we noticed the mistake.
“Excellent choice for Barcelona; great location, good value, and very cute and charming.”
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Barcelona for leasure. The location was very convenient, right in the center and walking distance to everything. The rooms are very well kept and comfortable. Hotel staff speaks English, which was great. And the best - the mini bar is very affordable ;)
“Great location, beautiful place, good price!!”
We were looking for a good location, good price for 3 rooms (7 people) and this hotel was perfect. The upstairs courtyard was beautiful, the rooms were very nice, free internet - no complaints at all. We got a recommendation for a great restaurant close by and we were within easy walking distance of shopping, Las Ramblas, and the open top tour bus. Best of all was the good value for the price.
