"I spent 5 days in Cape Breton and this was by far the best hotel I stayed at. Most of the other lodging options, especially deeper/father north into the park are “rustic” - stained tubs due to mineral water, cranky AC, mattresses that dip in the middle from heavy use. The Telegraph was none of those things. The rooms were modern on the inside and the staff was very friendly. Please stay here, you won’t regret it. "

"I liked the location room was clean, shower was nice beds seemed short room was on the hot side but turned on the outside fan / AC. Dining room / bar was nice had entertainment. You check in at the golf pro shop took a little longer due to my arrival time, being at the same time a night league was arriving. "

"Wonderful room but the best meal you will find anywhere. We chose the full tasting menu which ranged from a warm shrimp salad to ice cream on rhubarb at the end with about five or six other dishes in between. It would be difficult to match in inventiveness, taste and quality what we had this evening with any restaurant in the country."

"The music, in such a cosy and intimate setting, was outstanding. The musician, Neal McDaniel, was very talented. All this was at no extra cost, although most guests left a gratuity."

"The dinner meals were amazing. I had halibut one night and salmon the next. It was served with fresh vegetables from the garden. I had soup and mussels as appetizers and both were fabulous. The breakfast was very underwhelming, cold frittata and French toast with Aunt Jemima syrup ,no fresh fruit as promised. Our server Pierre was polite, efficient and kind. My room,6a ,had a moldy smell. The a/c filters were caked with dust ( I cleaned them out myself) and the patio door to the outdoor did...

"Mary greeted me on arrival. We had spoken on the phone earlier and she advised me to take a cab from the ferry terminal when the bus dropped me off. We sorted out the morning at the desk - wake up call, breakfast hours, leaving the hotel and walking onto the ferry. Mary is friendly and informative and the room is spacious, clean, and comfortable. "
