"This is right in the middle of Lapa party district and for $30 for a Friday night during Carnival, I appreciate that it is cheap, however, some things are just completely unacceptable. When I checked into my room which the cleaners were just leaving I found a good sized room with fridge, twin beds, a wardrobe and TV and a good sized bathroom. "This hotel was in such a bad, dirty neighborhood. It was super dangerous at night. The hotel is very run down and needs many, many repairs. There were sometimes no toilet paper in the bathrooms. The room itself was so small it was hard to move around in. I could touch both walls with my hands and I am 5’2”! There was no air conditioning or WiFi. "The hostel was okay. Locations was good. It did not feel very clean. It was dirty. Thankfully had an air condition but it’s only setting was freezing. Which I guess is good if your in humid Brazil.
