Madeira Island Romantic Vacations

We have just had a 3 night stay at the Hotel and it was lovely. When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly and gave us a brief tour, when our room was ready we were again escorted there by a member of reception. The room was a great size with a small patio area overlooking the lush gardens. We had dinner in the restauarant on our first night, which was excellent, service was impeccable. We used the bar a couple of times, loving the idea that we got to choose our "Happy Hour", we also ate in the Bar on 2 occasions and again the food was excellent. Breakfast was very good with a great slection of food.The Hotel is very traditional and has a lot of character, we will hopefully return one day and would recommend to anyone who would like to be within 15 mins of the centre of Funchal but still stay in a "little oasis".

Unique location inside a botanical garden. Very peaceful and luxurious

If it’s your first time in Madeira I’d suggest staying somewhere in city center, it takes 15 mins to get to this hotel. Very nice property and amenities. The staff and service is weak , shortage of staff. The breakfast buffet for a 5 starvhotel and the price was so weak as weak.

Overall - lovely place and would definitely return! Clean, spacious room, fantastic daily cleaning/service from team!! Balcony and view was lovely! Although a long walk from main reception - it was worth it for the peace and quiet! Great access across all hotel facilities. The only honest downsides were: The outdoor pool bar is unnecessarily expensive - especially for kids meals. Plus a small sprite is €5 for example! The self laundry is also quite pricey. And we found getting taxis via Uber was very challenging, and using metered yellow taxi’s off the rank is not wise - they will try and trick you to pay more by taking you a longer route to your destination!

Hotel was fabulous and the views were spectacular Entertainment was very good and the food was 1st class. Definitely would recommend this hotel. It should have 5 stars not 4. Elaine
