Long Caye Pet-friendly Vacations

What an amazing place to stay! We felt like we were family! We even met the owner and learned how the Villas came to be. We enjoyed our time with Dale the driver who made sure we went wherever we needed. My friends and I would recommend these villas to anyone visiting Belize!

Great place to have as our base for our vacation. Perfect spot in a quiet yet still close enough to town, Truck stop and Secret Beach. Felt like home away from home. Only minor feedback is that it was hard to find as there’s no signage on the main road. We would definitely come back again.

Stayed in Cabana 4 for a week in January, room was excellent, bed was firm and comfortable. Staff on site were excellent and enjoyed the daily breakfast either sitting on the porch or at the tables set up by the pool. Location was great, casual and fun truck stop literally across the street and the always excellent rum dog a couple of minutes away. 2 grocery stores within 5 minutes and a fridge in the room for your drinks. 2nd time in Belize, this is a perfect, quiet, relaxing property with easy golf cart access to everything you need!

We had a lovely stay and would go back again! The food was great, the staff and customer service was excellent, and our room was lovely! The concierge helped us with everything we needed and all our questions promptly. I loved that the room had extra touches like an essential oil diffuser, robes, and microfiber hair towel. I especially like that the hotel was more quaint with less volume than some of the larger options, we prefer a quieter stay overall!

My wife and I give The Terrace Ambassador a 10/10! Stay date: 23 April-03 May 2026 First, Deborah the owner and her husband were amazing! My wife and I went to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and Deborah made it an experience we won’t forget. We recommend staying at this bed and breakfast and would definitely come back again. Deborah skillfully managed coordinating trips for us from snorkeling the reefs, visiting Mayan ruins, cave tubing and zip lining, and for me, was able to schedule a scuba diving trip to the Great Blue Hole! She knew who to call to get us the best deals, keep us safe with trusted tour guides, and recommend the best places to go to visit to have a more authentic experience in Belize. Breakfast was served fresh and promptly each morning and we had the opportunity to sample traditional Belizean breakfasts. Location is an 8 minute walk to the major water taxis and a scuba diving shop. It’s also close to a major super market (Brodie’s) and downtown shopping. The area was safe as well and we had no issues walking around after dark at a reasonable hour. Other key amenities include: -excellent air conditioning -hot running water -washing machine and dryer (for those on an extended stay) -water coolers -friendly staff -good internet and WiFi (I was able to get work done as needed while on holiday) Again, we enjoyed our experience and would recommend The Ambassador Terrace to anyone traveling to Belize.

I can't say enough about the Sea Glass Inn and the Maloney's. We were met at arrival by Tom, one of the owners. He has alot of knowledge about pretty much everything you might want to do in Placencia. From places to eat to excursions you might want to take. They set up transportation for us from the local airport, a car rental fo r our road trip, and even scheduled our excursions! They truly go above and beyond at the Sea Glass. The hotel itself is newly remodeled, clean and beautiful, with a lot of personal touches. To top it off, if you're a dog lover, this is your place. Piper, Rigatoni and Alfredo are perfect additions to the laid back Placencia vibe.

We had the best time here. The hosts, Shanna and Kenny were great, super responsive and very helpful with planning things to do. Ernesto, one of the drivers was also fantastic and super helpful. The locals and neighbors around the house were very friendly. A grocery store was located near by and we were able to get most of what we needed to make our meals. Dee has a small bar next door and a small shop where you can get some basics. Dee was so friendly. A Howler Monkey troop came right onto the property one of the days and they were fun to watch. Another Howler Monkey troop spends most of its time across the street at Lloyd’s. Lloyd was happy to allow us on his property to check them out. The accommodations were great. There was a washer and dryer on site that worked well. We did not want to leave and we will definitely be back!

We recently stayed at X’tan Ha and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Their hospitality was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The rooms were clean, although they are somewhat dated and could use some updating. We also had a few visits from ants and termites in our room during our stay. The food was mediocre—not bad, but not particularly memorable. However, if you’re looking for peace, quiet, seclusion, and beautiful beach views, X’tan Ha delivers. The property offers a relaxing atmosphere away from the crowds. One thing to keep in mind is that it’s about a 40-minute bumpy golf cart ride to most restaurants, shops, and activities in town. For some travelers, the remote location will be a major plus; for others, it may be less convenient. Overall, if your priority is tranquility, beachfront scenery, and friendly service, X’tan Ha is worth considering.

the resort was beautiful. loved the pool the kitchen was very nice .very clean. Eiden was very nice and helpful...activity director Karen was awsome and very helpful . making sure all our activities were set up. due to mother nature the beach was not available but there were other beaches near by. karen booked us a tour to check out the Mayan ruins and cave tubing with lunch included. we had an awsome time.....Eddy and Mike {tour guides} were really cool and made sure everyone was comfortable and was having a great time ,they also were very knowledgeable

Don’t give it another thought- book your stay at The Banks! I promise you won’t regret it! Beautiful property with no detail spared- Our family of four stayed at The Banks at the end of May for 3 nights and we wished we could have extended our stay. We stayed in a beautiful 3 bedroom villa on the river, the rooms were beautiful and spacious, very clean and we loved the outdoor showers. We also had our own plunge pool that was definitely larger than your average plunge pool. Humo, the restaurant onsite was delicious and had several options to choose from. We also visited the Sleeping Giant for dinner one evening and had wonderful pizza at Donatos. At The Banks we enjoyed kayaking down the Sibun River, riding bikes, and hiking. We rented a car from the BZE airport which I would highly recommend- this made it easy and convenient to take days trips- we visited St. Herman’s cave and did their tubing tour, the Blue Hole national park (amazing), Armenia (a local village nearby, we ate lunch at Hibiscus), and drove to the Mayan ruins- Xunantunich. Special thanks to Gianni- our amazing bartender-he went above and beyond, Jessica the manager- she was so sweet and always asked about our day, and Jair one of our servers. 10 out of 10 recommend The Banks- you will love it!
