Cano Island Cheap Vacations

It was an ok place to stay and we did not have any problems. But it was not our favorite location. Staff were friendly, but those at the restaurant were often more focused on the FIFA game and slower to respond to request (water cups were often empty and took awhile for someone to come so we could pay for the meal). The room was nice and we enjoyed the personal hot tub in the back. The ac was working and was able to keep things cool, but for some reason it always stayed a little humid in the room, which made it hard for our swimsuits to dry. Overall, nice stay but not one of our favorites.

Spectacular hotel and staff. Five stars across the board. Beautiful rooms, great view, staff immediately available, good food, animals everywhere…. One of our best trips we have ever gone on due to the hotel and service.

This was our first stop on a first trip to Costa Rica and it was incredible. The team working here is nothing short of incredible. They are all so nice and very helpful! Everything from the welcome drink, to the breakfast, lunch, and dinner were amazing. The animals were plentiful and such a great way to start your trip with kids on the rainforest. We took a frog tour at night and it’s a must do as well. After breakfast, we hit the waterfall trail to some of the most breath taking waterfalls we’ve ever seen! You will not be disappointed to stay and visit here.

Loved the bungalow, it was the perfect treat in the cloud forest and the views were spectacular. We weren’t able to use the pool and fire pits because of timing & rain.

Excellent lodge allowing the guest to connect with nature. Dining was excellent. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Will definitely recommend to anyone who loves the outdoors.

we stayed here during our first night and then our last night while traveling throughout Costa Rica. the hotel is close to the airport, although you would never know it. feels like you are far in the jungle. the rooms are large and beautifully decorated with terraces . the property and landscaping is amazing, especially the sunset pool. I had a massage, and it was excellent in a beautiful facility. We loved our dinners and breakfast at the hotel, and most of all we loved the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, especially the rooms manager. Hope to be back soon!

Everything is great. I am impressed with the hospitality of the staff, especially Esther from front desk for accommodating my tour schedule, and Dilan for the night walk. He really knows how to take good photos of the frogs. Location wise, it is around 8min drive from La Fortuna downtown and having a car is more convenient. Not Walking friendly. If you don’t have a car, talk to front desk they will definitely help you with some options. One note, remember to bring ear plugs as you will hear the sound of nature 24/7, especially during bed time (birds, cicadas…) And there is also a dog rescue center close by and you will hear some dog barking from time to time. Overall, I am very happy with my experience at Tifakara.
