Gem in Cape Town will definitely stay again - extremely helpfull staff and amazing hospitality

Great and friendly staff.

Beautiful, clean, lovely staff. Careful of the seagulls if eating breakfast outside, and the bar closes at 10.30pm so order ahead if you want anything after being out for dinner etc.

A top class experience all round, I have stayed at the Taj Cape Town on a couple of occasions and they always manage to exceed my expectations. All of the staff are both attentive and friendly and the facilities are excellent. Breakfast is a joy with a huge amount of choice and the Spa is lovely.

I'll start with the positives: - The temperature and shower pressure in the bathroom were amazing! - The views from our room on the 15th floor were stunning. We had a 270degree view of the mountains, plus a balcony. The downside about the balcony was that the hotel would not provide patio furniture, and staff suggested that we move the side chairs from the living room in and out of the room to use on the balcony... - Most of the staff were incredibly friendly! Sandy in housekeeping, Gerald at the concierge desk, and Z in the Copa restaurant stand out! - The location on Loop streeet, close to Long Street, and a couple of blocks from Bo Kaap was awesome. Everything else was a quick/affordable Uber ride away. Cons: - The layout of the one-bedroom suites was a bit awkward. The bedroom was small with minimal walking space on either side of the bed. The closet was also small and awkwardly placed. There was no dining furniture, though there was space for it and the pictures of the room showed a dining table in the suite. The bathroom vanity lacked functional counter space. I really wanted to use the club, but it didn't seem super clean. - Breakfast was very monotonous (same thing every day), and there were not a lot of options other than fruit if you don't eat meat/pork/dairy/eggs. We spent a week and got bored with the food options quickly. There were certain dishes that were quite good and served as consistent fallbacks (smoothies, pancakes, cheese boards).
