Our top choices for Vesuvius lodges

A wooden cabin with a covered patio, outdoor seating, and a fire pit.

1. Blue's Barn

Nellysford

"The cabin is cute, but the property beside it looks down on the cabin so not much privacy or a view. There's no dishwasher, oven, or even a hair dryer here. When it rains the water turns rusty, thus is not drinkable and they don't leave bottled water for you or offer to help with that so that limits showers, toilets turned rusty, couldn't make coffee etc. The property was a little overgrown when we arrived as well. But a person came while we were there and cut the grass."

Days Inn by Wyndham Staunton

8/10 Good

"All was good with the room, except there was no hair dryer in our room. Then for breakfast, the hot water dispenser didn't work and the staff person was not helpful when I mentioned it to him."
