This amazing property is the newest addition to Wind Luxury Properties and joins our properties at Smith Mountain Lake (VRBO #'s 648334, 515931, 825368) and our amazing home on the Rappahannock River (VRBO #966039), giving our guests the opportunity to enjoy the high end properties we offer at a 4 season mountain top resort offering winter snowsports! We specialize in providing the high quality accommodations you desire to build lasting vacation memories with your friends and family! Blue Ridge Mountain Retreat at Wintergreen was acquired in November of 2017\. It was previously rented through Wintergreen as "Time Away" and was one of the top 3 properties at the entire resort for the last 5 years. However, if you rented it previously, it will look quite different--in a GREAT way! The property was not up to our standards and immediately after purchase we embarked on a face lift for the home with new furnishings, games, kitchen appliances, pillows, linens, etc.We are dedicated to providing our guests with abundant amenities, comfort, and luxury at all of our properties, no matter what the costs! This home is an amazing 4800 square foot luxury home located just a short distance from Mountain Inn, ski areas, Founders Vision Overlook, Devil's Knob Golf Course, Tennis Center, Spa, and Fitness Center. We provide you with 7 spacious bedrooms and 4.5 baths, 2 of which are master suites and include a jetted tub in addition to showers. We are able to sleep 20 guests in beds. There are also 4 wood burning fireplaces with firewood provided to roast marshmallows, keep you warm, and provide the crackle by the fire you desire while in bed or on the sofa during cold winter nights. Our luxury kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, or a feast after a long day on the ski slopes, tennis courts, golf course, or hiking through the mountains. Cook in style with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances prior to enjoying the fruits of your labor at our large dining room table, which seats 12 directly adjacent to the bar which can accommodate another 5 hungry guests! When you have had your fill of the outdoors, you can still enjoy your vacation inside with high speed internet, cable TV, a wide selection of DVDs, card and board games, as well as ping pong and foosball tables. Wintergreen Resort is a 4 season mountain resort located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. You are less than an hour from Charlottesville, home of UVA, Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, and the amazing 33 member Monticello Wine Trail, as well as an hour from the city of Lynchburg. The famous Blue Ridge Parkway passes beside Wintergreen offering opportunities for scenic drives, hiking, and year round escapes. Wintergreen itself is a massive 10,000 acre tract of land with ski slopes, snow tubing, golf courses, restaurants, stores, tennis and meeting facilities, as well as absolutely breathtaking views--just google Founders Vision Overlook at Wintergreen or Blue Ridge Overlook on Devil's Knob for examples. The resort offers 25 ski and snowboard slopes, Ridgely's Fun Park for kids, The Plunge 12 lane snowtubing, 45 holes of championship golf, 22 tennis courts, and a full service spa. The resort in located in Nelson County, near the small town of Nellysford. Within just a couple miles, you can be at several award winning wineries as well as a "who's who" list of famous Virginia microbreweries! The kitchen is very well stocked and perfect for a large group. Many bedrooms and beds everyone in our group was very comfortable. Many lights either did not work or had burnt out light bulbs we arrived at night, so this made things a little difficult. Please be aware that the house is up a very steep hill. The neighborhood seemed safe. This home isolated just a quarter of a mile to the main lodge so it's not far away from the action like a lot of homes at Wintergreen. This is a pretty spacious spot with everything feeling clean and not too outdated for Wintergreen. When we arrived everything was impressively clean like it was likely just completed. Everyone had plenty of space in bedrooms and multiple living rooms allowed for everyone to spread out when necessary. It was nice how close this house is to the lodge in Wintergreen because being a large resort we have found that tricky. We were able to maneuver easily to the lodge and restaurants. The house itself felt worn down: a window wouldn’t shut, some lights didn’t work, and the floors appeared unvacuumed.On the positive side, the house was very well stocked, which we truly appreciated. However, the driveway was extremely steep and difficult to navigate—both driving and parking felt unsafe. The driveway is tough to navigate when you have 7+vehicles or Large trucks so parking and entering and exiting The driveway was a challenge. The Deck needs some TLC but we made it work as well as the cement blocks on the walk path below deck. House is Beautiful and spacious. We had 20 Family members stay and still had several beds empty so plenty of room. Kitchen is huge great for family meals! Having so many bathrooms in house was ecspecially nice for parents and grand parents. We had an Excellent stay and will return next year! ##### Robert K. It was very nice having 2 refrigerators! Would have liked bath mats in the bathrooms. Floor is very slippery when wet. The parking and driveway was very deceiving. There were quite a few broken/ missing things. Lots of firewood stacked front and back of the house but no fire pit. But overall our stay was great! ##### Nancy B. Check in was amazing and Ashley was great to work with. However, when we arrived the house looked like it had not been cleaned. There were ping pong balls everywhere downstairs and dead bugs in every single bathroom in addition to mold on most of the shower curtains. The house was exactly as listed and was the perfect layout for our group. Overall great stay, but could use a really deep clean. ##### Jamie S. Strong musky/mild smell as soon as you walked in. Had to buy at least 8 odor neutralizer to address the smell. Linens/towels were not freshly washed. Several guests experienced allergic reactions ranging from wheezing to watery/puffy eyes, running nose, congestion. Cable boxes missing -had to be installed next day. Over grown landscape addressed two days later. Cleaning lady showed two days later to only vacuum up bugs. Listing showed a garage but there wasn't one, was told I should have confirmed there was one. Parking is tight if you have more than 3 cars. Felt our concerns were dismissed when addressing the issues. House is big enough for a large family/gathering with plenty of rooms. The house has seven bedrooms and there were plenty of prepared beds for everyone to have space. Overall, our group had a great stay. The house was clean but like some previous posts, we agreed it could use some freshening up. Steps and handrails that help avoid the steep driveway walk up were missing steps or handrails were loose. These are just wear and tear items that could be fixed both inside and outside the house. But overall, if you are having a large group get together for a Wintergreen stay or brewery tour (like us), this house is great. The kitchen table sat all 14 of us at one time. Ashley had some great advice about the local area. We had a nice time tubing. The home was clean and the kitchen was well stocked for our nightly cooking.
