The city centre, especially around the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy and the Rue de la Liberté, is particularly appealing. Here, you'll find a concentration of high-end hotels, gourmet restaurants, and quality boutiques, all within walking distance. The architecture is stunning, with many half-timbered houses and grand civic buildings.

The proximity to the train station also makes day trips to other Bourgogne towns or even Paris very straightforward.

For those interested in wine exploration, staying in Dijon still offers convenience. Many reputable tour operators offer excursions directly from the city to the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune vineyards, allowing you to enjoy tastings without the worry of driving.

The best time to go to Verrey-Sous-Drée is during late spring (May to June) or early autumn (September to October).

These months offer pleasant weather, ideal for exploring the Burgundy countryside without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. You'll find the vineyards at their most picturesque, either bursting with new growth or displaying the rich colours of harvest season. It's also a time when the region's culinary scene is in full swing, with fresh seasonal produce widely available.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will particularly enjoy May and June. The weather is mild, great for leisurely drives through the scenic Route des Grands Crus, stopping at charming villages like Gevrey-Chambertin or Nuits-Saint-Georges for wine tastings. Many châteaux and gardens are open and at their most beautiful, providing lovely backdrops for strolls.

For those interested in the winemaking process and a more active experience, September and October are excellent. This is harvest season, offering a glimpse into the region's primary industry.
