Rooms were ok. Bathroom was dire. I’m a size 10 … any bigger and the shower would be a struggle. It’s teeny tiny. There is no rack to put your shampoo on in the shower. So you have to put it on the floor and risk hitting your head against the wall as you pick it up. Overhead drencher shower did not work so had to use the hand shower. Bathroom floor had vinyl coming up the walls, like a boat, spattered with white paint. Dead fly on bathroom floor remained for the duration of the trip. Meals were very poor. Looked like a frazzled mum had got something out the freezer and slung it on a plate for the kids. Takes about 5 minutes from ordering to having your food served, which speaks volumes for ‘freshness’. Never again.

Overall we were happy with the accommodation but concerned when the alarm went off while no staff were on site it was disturbing to get an automated response when dialing the out of hours contact number offering to put me thru to reservations or the restaurant. Was on a call to emergency services when someone appeared to say an alarm had been tripped in the cellar and issue resolved . I mentioned the out of hours contact number didn’t get me to a human response was told it connects to them clearly not on this occasion.

You need sharp eyesight to see the hotel as it's right on the roundabout. It was perfectly placed for where we needed to be the next day. Parking was not a problem. The room was an odd shape and in need of new carpet. The doors are fire doors and they really did Bang shut every time someone came in our out of the coach house. The staff were Friendly and very helpful without being intrusive . The tables in the restaurant felt sticky which slightly puts you off although the meals were good. Breakfast set us up for the day it was excellent.

Stay overall was okay. Staff were nice enough and helpful just often difficult to locate at times. Hotel rooms in coach house outside were on the face of it nice. But then you quickly realise they are riddled with spiders and spider webs. Could also hear what sounded like rodents scratching through the night. The coach house is very old and I think this may add to the challenges. The wooden beams in areas were stuffed with loo roll where in were large spider nests and lots of webs. The food was actually good and decent selection of drinks. Parking is fine. Room other than huge amount of spiders webs and rodents were nice enough. I think it just must be a challenge for the age of the coach house possibly. Can’t speak for other rooms.

The menu was very good with a nice selection both for dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately our toilet had a leak and therefore kept filling every 5 to10 minutes. They did offer to move us but we stuck with it. Also the shaver point didn't work.

My door didn't lock and none of the staff could help. They couldn't move me to another room, and they have no maintenance support. I had to barricade myself in with furniture. Hotel looks nice, the restaurant is great, breakfast was delicious, but if you don't feel safe, then everything else is over looked.

A nice location and convenient to drive into Brighton from here. Hotel was old and showed its age in places. Rooms were clean and tidy but the floor is very squeaky, and appears the same in other rooms as we could hear movement in other rooms. Nice walk around the hotel in the evening. Left too early to have a breakfast. Evening food and drink was ok, staff were very helpful.

The room was of a good size, very clean and visually pleasing to the eye. Other rooms I had the opportunity to glance into appeared similar. However our room (no 3) had some issues in the plumb department. The toilet seat did not fit properly, it was quite difficult to get the flush to work properly, the shower leaked through the screen onto the floor and the hot water flow from the sink was almost non existent, also the plug did not fit properly. The bed, whilst vast (must be a super king) was beyond it's sell by date, the mattresses need replacing as they are.very soft and you fall to the sides as they taper off. Saying that, we would definitely chose the place again if in the area.

Lovely little pub hotel with a lot of history. The room was clean the bathroom was large with a wonderful bathtub. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Only downside of the stay was the food, as part of a chain the meals are all instant or microwave options which, though arrive very fast and hot just don't compete with something made fresh.

Parking was great, service for food in the evening was absolutely terrible. The restaurant only had one chef on. Waited 1 hour 50 before i had to go up and ask for my starter which was chicken strips. Not one of the staff members come up to me and apologise about the situation. I ended cancelling my food and not eating in there again on my 3 night stay. ive also asked for a vat invoice which i still havent got. Rooms are good overall.

Charming but Small

The room was too small for the number of nights we were there. However, the staff kept it clean and serviced daily. Our room was on the ground floor so we did not have to climb stairs with our luggage. That was a plus.

The exterior was tired and required attention. Areas were overgrown with shrubs..broken outside table with tape around to prevent being sat on, however it looked dreadful. In the dining area the table was very sticky. The staff though were very attentive and polite so we thank you for that.

K-märkt hus med bra pub och frukost. Uppenbarligen olika storlek rum. Vi fick ett pytterum utan vare sig hyllor, lådor eller bord. Mycket trångt för 2 personer. Bra sängar. Högljudda pubgäster och skällande hundar dagtid. Lugnt nattetid.
