We had reserved the one bedroom suite via Expedia in which photographs had shown a bathtub however our suite did not have a bathtub. We inquired with the staff and the following day we were switched to another one bedroom suite which did have both the shower and a bath as we had been looking forward to. Other than this, the room was excellent, very clean. The staff were very attentive and kind. The best part is the yoga type classes available at Bardo at no extra cost. We visited late December and thus seemed less busy at this time so the complex was quiet. The pools are lovely particularly the accessible Bardo pool. There’s a local food court area close and it was great. I really didn’t feel welcomed during my stay. The check in procedures and policies were overwhelming. The daily security deposit instead of a flat rate is a lot and having to sign your name exactly like your passport definitely threw me off. Our couples massage and complimentary wine after was just what we needed to finish our stay. Food and drinks were pricey but decent. As beautiful as the atmosphere is the location is close to a highway which was noisy and kills the vibe to an extent. Security is a bit of a concern as the room locks are merely that of a bathroom door. The room was really nice. There were ants the whole time on the counter where the safe is located. The mosquitoes will eat you alive so bring bug spray. The safe is extremely helpful and nice. (+) Amazing bohemian design. The room was very spacious with a private terrace and a lovely bath outside with “jungle” views. The hotel is sustainable which is a big plus for me. I saw also a lot of cute bats hanging in the trees of the garden which was a first for me :) (-): very noisy fridge that we had to switch. off at night. Also our room was close to the road so we could hear cars passing every other minute.
