"We specifically chose Dam Site Lodge because the property appeared to be a quaint, charming place to stay rather than a typical hotel along the highway. Unfortunately, the actual condition of the room was extremely disappointing and, in some respects, genuinely concerning. When we entered our room, we found dead insects, as well as a cigarette butt left inside the room. The overall cleanliness and condition of the room were unacceptable. "I enjoyed a single queen Casita...#10...and I loved it! It was perfect for me and had everything that I needed to be very comfortable. But this was way more than just a room...a casita...it was an experience. I spent several hours during the evening just enjoying the quiet, the birds and the view from my veranda. And then I did the same in the morning, with a hot cup of coffee. Not to be melodramatic, but this place was good for my soul and I will be back as soon as I can."
