The owners have preserved the historic aspects of the building while thoroughly modernizing the rooms and they are extremely clean. The restaurants are excellent, I ate at Le 9th several times. The location is very quiet and central. The housekeeping was excellent and no matter what time of day I left and took the sign off the door it was clean when I returned, which I did not expect (most US hotels have a set time for cleaning). The accommodation was spacious, beautifully maintained, and extremely comfortable – especially the beds, which made for a perfect night’s sleep after busy days. The kitchen was well equipped for our group of 18\. There was so much to enjoy: tennis, table tennis, both indoor and outdoor pools, and even a lovely woodland walk right on the property. The gîtes were superbly equipped and full of character, and the whole setting was peaceful and surrounded by stunning scenery. Jemma was communicative and helpful both before and during our stay. A truly relaxing and memorable holiday – we can’t wait to return!"
