Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Tingo?
The best area to stay in Tingo is within the village itself, particularly near the main square, as it offers the most convenient access to the Gocta Waterfall trail and local amenities.

Tingo is a small, tranquil village located in the Amazonas region. The main square serves as the central point, where you'll find the local church, a few small shops, and eateries. The village is compact and walkable, with most accommodations situated a short stroll from the square or along the road leading towards the Gocta Waterfall entrance.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat with direct access to nature, staying in Tingo is ideal. You'll be perfectly positioned to embark on the trek to Gocta Waterfall, one of the world's tallest, and enjoy the stunning natural surroundings. The quiet atmosphere and limited distractions make it great for a relaxing escape.

Solo travellers will also find Tingo a convenient base. The village provides an easy starting point for exploring the waterfall and offers a friendly, community feel.
When is the best time to go to Tingo?
The best time to visit Tingo is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.

During these months, you'll experience less rainfall and clearer skies, making it ideal for exploring the region's outdoor attractions. The trails to Gocta Waterfall and Kuelap Fortress are much more accessible and pleasant without the mud and slippery conditions that can occur during the wet season. Temperatures are generally comfortable, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C during the day.

This period is particularly good for those planning to hike or engage in outdoor activities. The paths are well-maintained, and the views are often unobstructed, providing excellent opportunities for photography. It's also a popular time for wildlife spotting, as animals are more active in the drier conditions.

While the dry season is popular, Tingo doesn't typically feel overcrowded, even then.

Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Tingo.
How much is the nightly rate at a Tingo hotel?

All sorts of factors affect price, such as the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for the cheapest rate.
