Nos merveilleux cottages à Thurso

« Literally in the middle of nowhere but if you like that sort of thing this is the place to be. We loved it for a few nights. House was great, road to get there was not but we have 4 wheel drive and our kids thought it was hilarious. »

« Everything was set on arrival. We had a nice stay in a very quiet neighbourhood. Maybe a bit to far if you would not have a car. The house could already do with an update. Especially the kitchen, or rather the equipment. The frying pan for example was really in a horrible state. Some people might like the electricity meter, but I found it a bit creepy, as if we were watched... Another item that clearly needs a change is the mattress. It was way to soft and we could feel the bottom of the bed....

« Cottage was perfect when we approached and went through the door , we moved the wicker basket to use it as a coffee table as it had glass on top of it , underneath there was lots of dead beasties , dread to think what the bottom of the basket was like , I swept them up and carried on , to realise we could not lock the door from the inside so had to leave it unlocked , apart from that it’s a lovely little place for a night or 2 »

« Peaceful, quiet. no cars, airplanes. Just the birds, sheep, sound of the wind, and the surf of the Ocean. I went for hikes and slept fantastically each night. This is a place to relax and get away from the crowds. Enjoyed every minute of it. »

« I loved the remoteness of this wee cottage. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet, with lots of lovely walks, then this is ideal. The cottage is powered by a generator, which you can hear but soon get used to. Make sure you bring everything you need, it’s a fair trek to the nearest shop! My dog ran around the forest all day long and slept all night and I chilled out with a glass or two of wine. I hope to visit again in the not too distant future. »

« Das haus liegt sehr ruhig auf einem Bauernhof. So richtige ländliche idylle kommt aufgrund des steinbruchs direkt neben dem bauernhof aber nicht auf. Die lage ist sehr isoliert und zum nächsten supermarkt ist es schon ein Stück. Dafür hat man die meiste Zeit seine ruhe. Das haus war sauber geputzt. Nur der staubsauger, um selber zwischendrin mal sauber zu machen roch sehr muffelig und der staubbeutel war voll. Der ofen und der herd funktionieren mit gas. Bei uns hat der zünder nicht...

« Für uns wichtig ist die voll ausgestattete Küche inkl Messbecher und Waage. Genügend Geschirr und Gläser. Einzig eine neue Bratpfanne ist längst überfällig. Ausreichend Frottétücher, Decken und Kissen. Heizung funktioniert sehr gut. Eine Gummilippe haben wir für die Dusche hinterlassen, da sehr viel Wasser nicht abläuft und es schlecht austrocknet. Wir würden wieder kommen. »

« Les trois jours passés à Bettyhill sont le meilleur moment de nos vacances en Ecosse. La maison, très agréable, est meublée avec goût et comporte tout l'équipement nécessaire. Plein d'animaux tout autour : moutons, chèvres, chevaux, sans oublier les chats qui venaient fréquemment nous rendre visite. A partir de la maison, on peut faire une randonnée qui amène jusqu'à une plage magnifique, presque secrète. Et plein de très beaux endroits à proximité. Impression d'être un peu au bout du monde......

« Fantastic stay at John O Groats. We had booked a double ensuite room which looked lovely. When we arrived the manager was waiting for us to ask if we would mind if they upgraded our room as the heating wasnt wasnt working. Obviously we didnt mind. Imagine our surprise when we were shown to our upgraded room. They had given us a three bedroomed, two bathroom lodge which was amazing. Warm, comfortable clean and pur luxury. We settled down by the logburner to watch the sea through the huge windows....

« Property was perfectly appointed with everything you would need. Bathrooms are spacious and nice big towels! Ocean view and great walks. We did two day trips and spent one day locally which worked out very well. I would definitely recommend this rental! »
