Great hotel

Lovely large room with balcony overlooking the beach. Delicious healthy food. Breakfast great. Staff organised pick up /back to Male. Local ferry worth checking out instead of motor boat. A lot of cats at the hotel if you like cats. Great place for surfers.

Nice hotel in a local island

Spacious rooms with sea view and big bathroom. Great breakfast and service. Free snorkeling gear to borrow. Free transfer to the Chicken Island. Very helpful and friendly staff. No soap or toiletries provided when we arrived, but the manager provided soap when we asked. Considering that this hotel is in a small local island, the price for the room and the services feel a bit too high.

Absolut empfehlenswert

Wir würden das Canopus absolut empfehlen: Tolle, riesige Zimmer mit Meerblick, super Lage in Thulusdhoo, schöner Strand, süße Katzen und Giovanni + Barbara waren mit ihrem Team waren immer sehr hilfsbereit und tolle Gastgeber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und denken, dass es keine bessere Unterkunft in Thulusdhoo gibt.

Hotel is located just in front of the beach, very close to cocks surf break. We had a beautiful ocean view. Personnel was friendly. Room is nice but no TV and towels and bed sheets were yellowish with some stains. Also showerhead requires replacement, water was barely running. We had to remove it to be able to take the shower. Also one morning we noticed some bites all around the body. Looked like bed bugs. So we changed the room and after that it was ok. However there are a lot of insects in the hotel and sometimes they come into the room.

Like: Good price and next to beach. Spacious rooms Dont like : They asked me for balance room payment when I have already made full room payment(except for US$15 tourism tax) via Expedia. Luckily I read a similar review and took screenshot of the amt I paid and the $15 I was to pay at guest house plus all my copies of reciept.

Fabulous time with family at Canopus Retreat.

Canopus Retreat is an amazing place for holidaying and is very sceneric. I spend 2 days with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fabulous place, which is right on the beach shore. The ocean facing rooms are amazing with clean linens and all the amenities provided, making it a truly 3 star accommodation. All the staff are courteous and willing to assist any time with smile. Luv to visit again, thus highly recommended.

Great place!

Everything is excellent except for a smelly toilet. There is always a constant sewage leak smell in the toilet but everything else is great! Staff is friendly & approachable, food is decent, nice area and clean beach!

Amazing stay: Wonderful Place and Friendly Staff

We had truly an amazing experience at the place. The property is ideal for a romantic retreat and is right on the beach. Beautiful ocean view from the room balcony and private recliners on the beach was a cherry on the top. The management was very friendly and tried their best to make the stay memorable for me and my wife. The experience matched that of staying in a resort :)

Tolle Lage, schöne Insel

Tolles Hotel direkt in erster Strandlage, tolle Größe nicht zu viele Touristen :) Schöner Balkon mit Meerblick, Zimmergröße perfekt. Tolles Personal, die versucht haben sich um alles zu kümmern, selbst der Hotelmanager. Zimmer wurde jeden Tag gereinigt und Handtücher wurden gewechselt. Was uns nicht so gefallen hat, war der teilweise schlechte Wlan-Empfang, das etwas einseitige Frühstück (Toast, Rührei, etwas Obst) und ein paar Badartikeln wären toll gewesen-zumindest eine Seife. Toll fanden wir, dass es jeden Tag eine gr. Flasche Wasser gratis gab. Direkt der Strand vorm Hotel hat sehr viele Steine-Bikini Beach ist aber nicht weit entfernt. Die einheimischen Inseln haben leider ein Müllproblem und sammeln daher einfach ihre Plastikflaschen mitten auf der Insel. Wir haben einen Schnorchelausflug gebucht. Waren nur zu zweit-Preis/Leistung fanden wir sehr angemessen! Von Male Airport ist die Insel sehr gut zu erreichen 30 min ud 30Dollar mit dem Speedboot. Abendessen haben wir nicht getestet, hatten ein sehr leckeres einheimisches Lokal RSR gefunden!

Wonderful experience

Great hotel, great service, tight in front of the beach, you have great tours, I recommend the safari one, we played with the board, and rented jet skis, we stayed 5 nights 2 families with 5 persons each, we rented 2 rooms per family, with 4 toddlers that had the time of there lives, we snorkeled, swam in the pool like ocean, ate the big breakfast they serve everyday, had lunch at the hotel, you can choose between chicken, fish and pasta, there are also some restaurants around, great wifi connection, hot water, There is a mini mart on the side of the hotel, to buy necessities, drinks etc, the island is beautiful, there's an amazing play area near by for kids, I strongly recommend this place, definitely value for your money, and the service is 5 stars, they really make the stay even more unforgettable, great location, diving center on the neighbor hotel, and surf island walking distance 400mt maybe, natural pool 200mt away, love love love

Un paradiso

Poszionato su un'isola Maldiviana bellissima, è una guest house meravigliosa con persone cordiali che cercheranno di esaudire ogni richiesta. Camera spaziosa, bellissima la nostra con vista mare, pulita ogni giorno, bagno grande e ben funzionante, aria condizionata silenziosa ed efficiente, frigobar. Non rimpiangerete di certo un resort! Ottima colazione in stile maldiviano accompagnata da un buonissimo caffe/capuccino italiano. Vi consiglio di provare i pranzi e le cene dell'ottimo chef che sa adattare la cucina e le spezie ai gusti degli ospiti ad un prezzo molto interessante. Vi è un'ampia possibilità di escursioni in barca da personalizzare di giorno in giorno in base a quel che vi piace di più. Che dire soggiorno perfetto in un'isola magnifica. Il proprietario è una bravissima persona, attenta ai gusti, cordiale, piacevole con cui chiaccherare. Vivamente consigliato.
