Bout St. Maurice is a ski town in the winter and a hiking/ biking town in the summer.My wife says this is one of the best areas we have ever seen and thinks the motel is the best as well. Quick to the train station, only a few minutes away and not far from the funicular (which, if you're skiing runs before the ski lifts so from the hotel you can still get first lifts onto your mountain). "I have traveled to the Les Arcs area many times, but I have never had such a terrible experience. The hotel room was absolutely terrible: dirty, moldy, and not at all suitable for families. The guest bathroom and bedroom probably haven't been cleaned in decades. The furniture appears to be original, and the bedding is stinky. Additionally, I paid extra for the sheet set, only to find it stained, as if it had never been washed. Communication with the owner was also terrible. Please, DO NOT TAKE...

"Excellent apartment in a great situation, near the slopes and all the amenities. Well stocked with everything we needed. Kitchen is tiny and the oven very small and only two rings on the hob which limited catering. The main problem was that the parking was shut. The host provided an alternative, which was a long way away and less convenient. Stopping within 10 mins walk of the apartment was restricted, leaving us to carry our equipment to the apartment as quickly as possible whilst being hassled by the gendarmes at the drop off place. The access to 1800 was confusing and we had to spend quite a lot of time with the barrier controllers to sort out our parking / entry tickets. The owner was sympathetic but couldn't do anything about the situation. We felt that forewarning would have been helpful, for example we could have taken a trolley!"
