"We had the most enjoyable and welcoming stay at this luxury safari lodge. The service from all the staff was exceptional especially from Maximillan and the food was delicious. The tent was so spacious and had very comfortable beds. Also our safari driver (John) was excellent. When we come back to the Serengeti we will definitely stay at this lodge again. "

"Ok experience. Nothing more and nothing less. Two Norwegians pretty used to comfort and good accommodations, and this wasn’t all the way as expected at this price level, even though it’s Serengeti. The staff were very bad in English, so we found ourselves lost in translation very often. Which made planning a safari a bit of a challenge. However, our safari guide was fantastic. The food was ok, but variety was not good at all. The worst: This hotel is MUCH more expensive than they disclose...

"Great stay - clean tent, good food, fantastic staff, in the park so zebras on the doorstep! The only issues were that a) the bathrooms have no doors - which isnt good when you are 3 friends staying in 1 room - and there is a doorframe so goodness knows why there are no doors! And b) there was a grass fire which came very near the hotel and there was zero comminication about whether we were safe or not - simply saying "it will be fine" doesnt really do anything to reassure guests who arent used...

"The Malakai is essentially brand new, beautifully designed, tastefully decorated and kept in impeccable condition by the staff. I cannot say enough good things about the people that work there – led by Alex at the front desk and his team, they were very polite, overly attentive to all my needs and they provided superior service. "The location and setting is magnificent, but what made Pioneer so special is the wonderful service by all the staff working under the perfect oversight of Manager Simon. Our tent butler, Juma, was a special delight. The nightly dining under the stars was so special and the meals were excellent. "I just got back from a 4-night stay at Riu Jambo, and honestly, if you’re looking for that postcard-perfect Zanzibar turquoise water, this is the spot. But like any big resort, there are a few things you should know before you book. The Location & Beach (10/10) This is the absolute highlight. Since it’s located in Nungwi, the tide doesn't go out for miles like it does on the East Coast. You can actually swim in the ocean all day long. The beach is pristine, and the sunsets from the jetty bar are probably the best I’ve ever seen. Pro tip: Head to the "See You" bar on the jetty around 5:30 PM to snag a seat for sunset. The Food & Drinks For an all-inclusive, the food was surprisingly good. The main buffet (Maisha) has a massive variety, but it can feel a bit like a "canteen" during peak hours because it gets very loud and busy. The Speciality Restaurants: We tried the Asian (Yunnan) and the Italian (Il Panzotto). The Italian place on the jetty is a must—the atmosphere is way more intimate than the buffet. Drinks: They don’t stingy with the drinks, and the cocktails are decent, though sometimes a bit sugary. The Rooms We had a lateral sea view room. It was modern, super clean, and the AC worked like a charm."
