I am an American traveler and I did not have a good grasp of Mandarin. I relied heavily on my google translate. The staff was very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to assist me in anyway. There is a daily take-away breakfast which was great to start the day. The hotel is in an excellent location surrounded by lots of restaurants, the MRT, and shops. The hotel price is reasonable for its location (near the Grand Hotel, the Hilton, and Cham Cham Hotels). Also you can walk to the night market. I had a pleasant stay at forward suites. The location is superb! The staff are friendly and helpful. From the design can tell it’s a very old hotel, but it’s still quite comfortable to stay. Breakfast included not bad as well. However, there are a few points that I would like to share. 1\. Check in time is 8.30pm, if you book from hotels.com. You can still check in earlier if you are ok to pay extra. (guess it’s the hotel way of making extra bucks as they have those stay charge by hour). 2\. The airport transfer stated doesn’t mean there is a free transportation to the airport. It just means they can help you call a cab, you have to pay for it. 3\. The only hotel that asked me to leave the key at the counter whenever I am going out or having breakfast.
