"The hotel is visibly old and could do with a refurbishment. The room was spacious but primitive. The restaurant is recently overtaken by two younger chefs and is excellent. The hotel and restaurant are seperate businesses. The hotel staff was kind but forgetful. My partner is intolerant to Gluten but despite having called in advance and been reassured that glutenfree bread was available, it was still forgotten twice at breakfast and long waiting as consequence. "Lovely hotel, great staff. Comfortable bed. Dinner is just one fixed menu bookable in advance which was of very good quality if you happen to like what it is on the day. If you visit, its best to research the history of the area as we did not and missed some nice potential visits"
