My wife and I stayed for her birthday weekend and had a great time. The property is located at the end of the strip so it was perfect to start the bar hoping. The apartment was very cozy and clean. Definitely recommend for the quick get a way!!
The loft was comfortable for 2 - 20 stairs up and down. A convenient location for visiting our daughter and her family. We enjoyed Main Street shops, St. Louis zoo and the Butterfly House.
We loved this little studio apartment above Main St! Parking was easy as was entry into the apartment. Nice furnishings, clean shower, small kitchenette area and TV space. Our only negative was limited bath towels that were thin and small. We would definitely stay again and thank you for being a dog-friendly property!
Right in the center of historic Main Street. And historical buildings is just a part of the fun. Unique shops of all kinds. Super food. Good nightlife & music. You also have a wide view of the Missouri River (beautiful scene). Take walks along the Katy Trail and Frontier Park (learn about Lewis & Clark). You’ll have an amazing time.

Hoping this is internal private feedback because I'm writing to help. I love the location. Of course, noise can be an issue. Here are some things I would fix that caused issues for me:
1) AC standing unit is extremely loud when it cuts on. It woke me up every time and I turned it off
2). Expensive fix but shower is tough for a big guy. Locking front sliding door probably keeps things dry but requires climbing in and getting wet to start water so it can get cold.
3) Blinds are too short for Windows so open to street from bathroom and bed.
4) if there is a way to make codes available via VRBO app, it would be good. I couldn't find my email with the door codes and had to search for a while to figure out where to get it.
I hope that helps.
From the welcome email with clear concise directions on how to enter with door codes to a dwelling that had everything I needed with a very comfortable bed, it was a great stay and I wanted for nothing.
My wife and I had a great time staying at this little place. Everything was clean and as advertised close to everything downtown within walking distance, beautiful area felt very safe. We had one small issue with the air conditioner and it was very quick to be addressed Fantastic service. We would very much stay at this unit again.
If you want a weekend or weeklong getaway to historic Saint Charles, I highly recommend you stay here. The place was impeccable. A studio, but spacious and with all the amenities. I had the time of my life.
Had a hard time with the door locks.I got sent 4 different codes which was extremely confusing, And lead to us being lock out on main street at night and has a very obvious queer couple isn’t ideal. One of the old codes worked and one of the new ones. Would definitely work on getting different locks or have 2 sets of codes instead of 4.
We absolutely loved our stay! It was a very cozy, welcoming little apartment above a cat cafe! There is so much to do on main street; enough to keep you occupied for a few days. Everything you need can be reached on foot. The only thing that threw us off was the late night activity of the bar directly across the street. Just be aware that Friday and Saturday nights (mostly Saturday) can be noisy until the bar shuts down. Other than that, everything was perfect!
Loved the studio apartment. did not know there were over 20 steps up to apartment. Also did not get much sleep on the weekend nights due to bar right across the street and no window insulation. Would add some decaf options for coffee/tea. Would add a bath mat for when you get out of shower. would add a rubber mat for tub/shower because it is slippery. But overall loved the apartment!
Felt safe in area. Parking fairly easy & free. Young area with some wkend noise & band. Steep flight of stairs to climb to 1st level & step was narrow. Use railing & don't take too much on way up/down. Bed was the Best I've slept in. Very comfy. Clean except for a few cob webs @ high ceiling point. Communicates well & quick. Cost was well worth it. Would stay there again.

For me, this place was cute. If it were somewhere else, I would have liked it. It was very isolated and I did not feel safe. There were locals kids (young adults) that create a menace of themselves my first two nights(prior to getting into this studio, I was stuck in my car). The noise from the town wasn't a bother, only the locals two nights in a row. Obscenities and confrontation toward me were made so much that I felt unsafe and checked into a local hotel for the rest of my stay. The stair case is narrow and hidden. They have the address as 319 South Main St., its 319 N. Main St. That left me lost. When I tried to reach out, no one got in touch with me until later in the evening. The phone number they have posted is disconnected. My check in was at 4pm. They did not send me my check in stuff until 421pm. I had called a couple of days before to get all my traveling stuff together and they told me they'd sent it day of. I was on a plane and I never saw it Because we were communicating via messaging through VRBO. I had been looking there for all communication. That being said, it got late, and dark in an unknown place alone and I checked into a hotel for the night. They were nice enough to compensate that night. I was grateful for that. I hope this helps. Yes the description is 99% accurate. They should include the right address, let people know it is very isolated and give good instructions with the upstairs door. Its a pain in the rear. Hope this is a good description.

Not good
My wife and I love to stay at St Charles and try new things. We had always wanted to stay on the Historic District but we will probably change that mindset after this experience.
First, the price is not worth what you get for the money. There is nothing that was misrepresented by the listing but it is the worst of what they say, not the best. They say “noise” but it was unimaginable. The listing is right across from a bar so the noise involved lost of yelling, cursing, etc… until 2 am.
Parking is an issue as well. Yes they say “street parking” but it is hard to find a spot close enough. Which means you are carrying your luggage quite a ways to the location. Plus there are signs stating a two hour limit for parking.
Cleanliness was an issue as well. We found a chicken bone on the couch when we arrived. There are black spider-webs above each window—not sure how long they have to be there to turn black. I walked across the hardwood floor in my bare feet after a shower and had tons of stuff on the bottom of my feet. For an extra $150 in service fees, I was expecting more.
There is a window in the room the looks out to the stairwell. It lets in way too much light from the stairwell when trying to sleep.
Overall, the worst experience at a stay in this area that we have ever experienced to date. I guess if you were doing a “bar crawl” then the location would be perfect. On a positive, we did have trouble with the TV and they responded by text right away.
This property was charming and within walking distance to a number of restaurants and pubs. Jeff was easy to connect with and the checking were appreciated. There are a set of steep steps going in, which were reasonable to navigate however as someone who uses a mobility aide it would have been beneficial from a rail or grab bar toward the top landing.
