Astonishing view from the room.

Astonishing view from the room. Very nice and spacious room. The bed was excellent. Breakfast was good with a lot of high quality products. Only downside was the coffee- it was made with UHT milk - and Italian would never do that, they would use fresh milk.

We stayed for two nights over New Year’s Eve at the Alsik Spa Hotel, and overall we were very impressed with our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, modern, and extremely clean. From the moment we arrived, the staff at the reception were very friendly and welcoming. We had booked a Junior Suite with breakfast on the 8th floor, and it exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious, stylish, and impeccably maintained, and the view was fantastic – especially over New Year’s Eve, which made the stay even more special. Breakfast was excellent, and the overall service, room quality, and hotel atmosphere were outstanding. We would absolutely love to return. The only real downside was the spa area. Even as hotel guests, access to the spa comes at an additional cost, which is quite high. Although hotel guests pay less than external visitors, a 3-hour spa slot costs over €40 per person, which is not insignificant. The spa itself is clean, modern, and very well equipped, so there is nothing to complain about in terms of facilities. However, at this price point, one naturally expects excellent service and hospitality. Unfortunately, this is where our experience fell short. Some of the spa staff appeared unorganized and not particularly friendly, at times even a bit condescending. For example, after our spa visit, we simply asked for a fresh bathrobe to use in our room, as the spa bathrobe was completely soaked. The hotel is beautifully situated close to the heart of Sønderborg, offering stunning views of the harbor and easy access to local attractions. The rooms are spacious and modern. As we traveled with our small dog, we incurred additional cleaning fees of 300 DKK per night, which is approximately 40 euros. We have stayed in many European hotels and have always paid between 8-15 euros max; therefore, the price is simply exorbitant. It was all the more annoying that, whenever we left the room with our dog, we informed the reception that the room service could come to clean. Unfortunately, this never worked directly, so our room was only cleaned during day trips every second day. In addition, it was inconvenient to always have to leave the wet food for the dog at the reception because of a missing minibar at the room; the staff helpful. Our room had a breathtaking view of the sea, which was a nice sight to wake up to each morning. Steigenberger has an array of nice amenities. Great is the Spa area; still, for the overall price we paid for two weeks it was a pity that the access to the pool was not included. Additionally, we were somewhat bothered that, on top of the 'normal' spa area costs, there are additional charges for the Nordic Spa area. For a hotel in this price range, a spa area should naturally be included in the overnight price. The dining experience at Steigenberger Alsik is very good and we would like to highlight the extraordinary breakfast buffet.

Hmmm, boring and no soul

Hmmm, what to say - expectations were rather moderate, we did however arrive and with a version of expectations to be meet with a smile. Alsik as a hotel is for the guest who wants cold, simple & conference look alike. We are more in thw mindset of quality rather than quantity, we cannot recommend as it lacks personality and service minded staf.

Generelt flotte forhold. Godt udvalg til morgenmaden. Et stort minus er det automatiske lys under sengene som tænder når man bevæger sig i nærheden. Det har aldrig været en god løsning og gør at man har sværere ved at falde i søvn, hvis man har vært oppe.
