Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Skibby?
The best area to stay in Skibby is the town centre itself, or along the coastline to the north and west for those seeking a tranquil retreat.

Skibby town centre offers convenient access to local shops, eateries, and essential services. It's a small, walkable community where you'll find the main church and local market square. This area is ideal for those who appreciate easy access to amenities and a sense of local life.

For couples or solo travellers seeking a peaceful escape, staying along the coastline near Dråby Strand or Dalby Huse is highly recommended. These areas offer stunning views of the Isefjord and access to quiet beaches and walking paths.
When is the best time to go to Skibby?
The best time to go to Skibby is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is warm and pleasant.

During this period, the average temperatures range from 18°C to 22°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the natural beauty of the area. The days are long, with plenty of daylight hours to enjoy the Fjord and the surrounding countryside. This is superb for couples looking for a relaxing escape, as they can enjoy boat trips on the Roskilde Fjord, cycling along the scenic routes, or simply unwinding by the water.

Families often find July and August particularly appealing due to the school holidays. Skibby offers a calm environment with opportunities for children to play outdoors. The local beaches along the Fjord are suitable for swimming and building sandcastles, and there are several nature trails for family walks. Many local farms also offer seasonal activities during this time.

While the summer is the most popular, early autumn in September can also be quite pleasant, with fewer crowds and still comfortable temperatures for outdoor pursuits.
