An extremely comfortable hotel, in a superb location for the city centre and entertainments such as the Crucible and cinemas, the room was spacious and with good facilities; excellent shower, good table space, large comfy bed. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful and the breakfasts are great.

Feels like an upmarket hotel with really attentive staff. Unfortunately my room, despite being really spacious looked tired and worn. The communal areas are very welcoming and they have a good breakfast. Swimming pool also looks a bit tired. Sauna area and gym are really good.

The outlook, surrounding and location is good. The hotel lobby and corridors to guest rooms are good decorated, however the interior of guest rooms are quite old fashion and seems haven't gone through any renovation of modernisation. The furnitures and TV are very old fashion. The cleaniness of carpet and armchairs are not up to hotel standard that causing you reluctant to step on the carpet and rest in the armchairs. Moreover, due to the dirty carpet in the room, I needed to request for a pair of sleeper. Unfortunately the frontdesk replied that it is the IHG's policy of not to provide any sleeper but directed you to buy one from the shop nearby. They failed to supply any sleeper to protecting your foot.

Breakfast was very disappointing, fruit dry, bacon overcooked. The black pudding was rock solid, staff didn’t greet on arrival, or clear away plates!! Room was clean and lovely, but being in room 504 the beep every time someone called the lift was incredibly annoying. The bar pumps need cleaning none of the drinks we tried were cold or tasted right, as a result we opted not to go back to the hotel for drink.
