It's of course old but well taken care of and clean. The old wooden floors are part of the charm. We hoped to see a ghost but unfortunately it was a bust :) Staff were very friendly. Park yourself in the well lit public garages close by. I put my Ferrari there and wasn't worried at all.
This place was AMAZING. The staff were wonderful, everything the hotel had to offer from simple games in the library to wine to entertainment to probably the creamiest breakfast quiche I’ve had in ages from their breakfast buffet were, in my personal book, top tier. Will definitely stay here again in the future.
Charming historic hotel in a very walkable area! Our room was quaint - very tiny but clean and quiet. One thing that was a shock was the amenities fee of $186 for our 4 night stay. I asked what that additional fee covered and it was for breakfast and nightly entertainment - we did 3 breakfasts, they were suitable but honestly wish that wasn’t a mandatory expense OR just make the rooms a little more expensive and call it “breakfast included” … this felt a bit sneaky. The front desk also told us usually they have wine and snacks in evening, but they lost their liquor license recently so that was a miss. Overall, fine experience, but I’d likely stay elsewhere next time with more amenities and better food.
The room was very clean and the staff were excellent. I loved the free water to go as the days were very hot. Each evening they had some type of entertainment for an hour just before dinnertime with free wine and snacks. We took advantage and were delighted. We would go back to the Marshall house. Only one thing I would add is to install magnifying mirror in the bathroom.
Our entire stay was awesome. Staff, room and amenities were great.
We stayed for 3 nights and everyone we encountered was more than gracious and helpful.
The preservation of the old hotel was much appreciated!
I absolutely love the Marshall house and I will continue to stay there when I’m in Savannah. The staff is extra nice, so special, the breakfast is free and they have so many choices. They also have a lovely wine reception every night in a historic sitting room. Centrally located to all of the things you want to see in Savannah. A former military hospital, It’s part of the historic tours and an exciting place to stay. Much quieter than staying on the riverfront which is a little wild at night.
This was an amazing hotel, and great location. Staying in this old of a building, but having all the amenities of new was great. The wine and cheese happy hour with speakers/music was a bonus. Breakfast was really good. I would stay her again, and will recommend to others.
This is our third time staying at the Marshall House, but found out it is now under new ownership. We sincerely hope the standards will remain the same or even improve. There was a miscommunication in housekeeping/Maid service, but Martha (front desk) went above and beyond to rectify the situation and personally came up and cleaned our room after hours. She was very accommodating and redeemed our appreciation for the hotel. We were disappointed at the cheese and wine reception at night since there was no wine (liquor license lapsed?). The breakfast offering and staff continues to be first rate. As long as this does not turn into a “pet friendly” hotel we will continue to to stay at the Marshall House.

Breakfast was great, staff was great, room was clean
This place gets an A+ for clean, quiet rooms, friendly, helpful staff and a perfect location! Even though it is right on the main street of the Historic District with shops, restaurants and bars all around it, it is well insulated from the nightlife noise. Considering the building is several hundred years old, it is in excellent shape and has been modernized and well maintained. They do serve a hot breakfast every day but if you are looking for gourmet, this is not your place. It was very hot when we were there and the common areas were well cooled but the room was not so cool. The wine and cheese happy hour with local entertainment was really nice but again, not gourmet.
The entire experience at the Marshall House was excellent. The staff is very helpful. They offer great amenities, breakfast, the evening wine and entertainment, all included with your accommodations. We enjoyed it and will definitely recommend .
