The town centre of Santa María is compact and walkable, with most of the essential services and local eateries located around the main square, Parque Central. You'll find the local church, municipal buildings, and a few small shops here. The streets are laid out in a grid pattern, making it easy to navigate.

For travellers looking for a local experience, staying near Parque Central is ideal. It allows for easy access to local restaurants serving traditional Colombian cuisine and the opportunity to experience the town's day-to-day life.
When is the best time to go to Santa María?
