Come enjoy our cozy Homestay at a prime location in the town of Ballard! (Solvang)

Approx 5 minutes by car to Solvang center, Los Olivos and Santa Ynez.
30-40 minutes to Santa Barbara Beaches!

Our Solar Powered property is approached by 1/4 mile of driveway lined with 25+ foot tall cypress trees. This 3bed/2bath home is about 300 feet from our Main Home.
It has a well equipped kitchen, whole house water filter, dining table for 6 people, WiFi, smart TV in living room and comfortable L shaped couch.
Super Comfy beds! King size bed in Master. Queen size in both other bedrooms. All have TV's with cable service.
Darts game. Corn Hole game and Foosball table in the Garage. Walking distance to wineries, 6 bicycles to use at no charge, etc...

Guest Access:
There is a beautiful pond on the property that our guests may enjoy during daylight. It has its own little beach and boat docked on it.
The water fall also acts as an aeration and filtration system for the Fish. ( Blue gill and Catfish,)
** Kids under 12 years of age, only allowed with responsible adult supervision.
** No swimming or entering the pond and boat allowed!

Interaction with Guests:
My wife Hilde and I enjoy a nice chat with our Guests, but will always provide and respect their peace and privacy.

The Neighborhood:
Ballard (Solvang), the center of the Santa Ynez Valley was the first town that settled here in the late 1800's!
Surrounded by vineyards, mountains, horse ranches, farms and schoolhouses, you feel as you have arrived in a time warp of sorts where simple pleasures, mossy oaks, grassy fields, and warm sunny days are found.
We feel so fortunate to live here, closely guard its quiet serenity and are grateful for all the beauty, amenities, world class wineries, restaurants, breweries, and shopping this Valley has to offer.
A Beautiful route to the charming towns of Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Solvang or Buellton takes only 5 to 10 minutes by car or make a loop and enjoy the scenery on our bicycles, provided to you at no charge!

Exterior quiet time 9:30PM-8AM. Respect our home and neighbor's privacy/peace and quiet at all times. No Drone flying on or from our Property allowed.
Private Land next to the driveway from the street to our gate, incl the roundabout are off limit to guests, regardless if some gates are open or not!
Check-out is No later then 11AM! No exceptions since we allow same day reservations with check in by 3PM. We really need those 4 hours to clean.

One of the top VRBO's we have ever stayed in. We loved it!! The house is super quiet and in a great location. You can get here in less than an hour from Santa Barbara airport. Incredible views! It was so nice to have a kitchen, washer and dryer. We can't say enough good things about this house. We used to go to Healdsburg for wineries - Solvang area is our new favorite. Thank you so much!

Great location. Very private, yet close to Los Olivos restaurants and wine tastings. The house was really clean. Probably the cleanest, well kept VRBO I’ve ever stayed in. It rained, so we didn’t get a chance to ride the bikes, but we want to go back so we can. Views from the living areas are just beautiful. Great place, very nice host!

Idyllic retreat with stunning views

The house is set in a beautiful and private location with gorgeous views of the surrounding area. Kris was very welcoming and the property was full of light, well appointed and very comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring the vineyards and visiting the local towns.

What a lovely space!

Great Location

This property has beautiful views and is a great location to use as a base for wine tasting and dining. While we did not end up doing any cooking it would be great for preparing and cooking or bbqing your own meals. The owner just lives across the street and is very nice and helpful. I highly recommend a stay here.

California Dreaming is a dream come true

If you are looking for a place to stay in the Santa Ynez, Ballard and Solvang area, no need to look any further than California Dreaming. This spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home has a beautiful open floor plan, a beautiful kitchen area and beautiful views in every room. The backyard has nice furniture and a gas grill. Washer/dryer also available. The hosts, Kris and Hilda, are always available to answer your questions and give helpful hints.

Lovely location in the heart of wine country!

We have stayed here before as you can't beat the combination of a great house and an excellent location! All three bedrooms feature cozy memory foam mattresses. The great room and kitchen are just the place for a friends and family gathering (it was too nippy to be outside this visit). WiFi is solid and the house super clean - no complaints!

Wonderful weekend!

We were a group of 3 couples and we had a fantastic stay here, I would 100% stay there again. We had one minor issue and Kris responded immediately to take care of it, which we really appreciated. I spend a lot of time in the area and this location is perfect for anything you might want to do while you're there. Would highly recommend this place for anyone traveling to the SY Valley!

A Little Slice of Paradise!

California Dreaming was the perfect place to stay for our visit to the Santa Ynez Valley.
