![About an hour out of Xela is a wonderful Hike to Laguna Chicabal a sacred Mayan Lake. Plan to leave early and spend the day climbing and in and around the lake. There is often mayan ceremonies going on. 

Best way to get there is by shuttle from Xela.

Parking available on the backside, or just in front along the street. Very good location, Plaza Central, cathedral, supermarket and bank within just a few meters, what else does a tourist need...?"

![About an hour out of Xela is a wonderful Hike to Laguna Chicabal a sacred Mayan Lake. Plan to leave early and spend the day climbing and in and around the lake. There is often mayan ceremonies going on. 

Best way to get there is by shuttle from Xela. 

Note you cannot swim in the lake, it is prohibited.

The staff were extremely accommodating and offered outstanding customer service. The location felt very safe, with many small stores and charming cafés nearby. The hotel was spotless, had a pleasant fragrance throughout, and the restaurant served excellent food. The complimentary breakfast was a delightful touch.
