The best area to stay in Saint-Remy is within the town centre itself, particularly around the Boulevard Victor Hugo and its surrounding streets. This area is the heart of Saint-Remy, enclosed by a ring of boulevards that replaced the old town walls. It's very walkable, with narrow, winding streets opening onto small squares, all shaded by plane trees. You'll find a good selection of independent shops, art galleries, and restaurants. The weekly market, a highlight, takes over many of these streets.Couples will find this area particularly appealing. Staying here means you're just steps away from delightful cafes for your morning coffee and a wide choice of restaurants for dinner. The convenience of strolling through the historic streets in the evening, perhaps after a visit to the nearby Roman ruins of Glanum or the Saint-Paul de Mausole monastery, makes for a relaxing and romantic trip.

The best time to go to Saint-Remy is during the spring (April to June) and early autumn (September to October). These periods offer pleasant weather, with warm, sunny days great for exploring the town and its surroundings without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find the lavender fields beginning to bloom in late spring and early summer, creating picturesque landscapes. The crowds are also generally smaller than in July and August. For those who prefer a livelier atmosphere and don't mind warmer temperatures, July and August are also popular, though busier. This is when many local festivals and events take place, offering a deeper insight into Provençal culture. However, you should expect more tourists and higher prices during these peak months.
