"Indian restaurant food is tasteless due to overspicing, and premises are run-down and dingy. Staff is scruffy and check-in is slow. Bar is a dark squalid place where some local men consume alcohol while apparently awaiting female professionals hired for fun. Corridors have room service meals at the doors of rooms with food leftovers there for hours, attracting flies. Breakfast is basic and mediocre, and fruits are not fresh. "A good value for money hotel, with very good friendly staff, very comfortable room, good rooftop pool and excellent breakfast. Hotel is central Muscat, with a short taxi ride needed to visit better restaurants and beach.
Good quality of air con; Don't underestimate the heat! Oman is a lovely friendly country, and visitors are made very welcome."
"When I first arrived at the hotel I literally said oh my god what have I done as it seemed miles away from the city! The key word is seemed! The hotel is close to a very quiet beach giving plenty of chill vibes! Buses to the city stop like a 20 second walk away from the hotel! Quite a few shops locally too! For convenience of getting cabs, buses, local shops and the beach the hotel is great! Cabs to the the city are around 1.2 riyals and are around 10 mins away! The hotel is quiet and clean! The staff is extremely attentive and helpful! Will choose Al Hail Waves Hotel again and again when I visit Muscat! The Main Street Sultan Al Qaboos Street is about a 20 mins walk and is filled with eateries and shops! "
