First, Indian Lake has a water taxi run by a local named John West. His number is (937) 210-9723, you can coordinate pickups, drop offs, and even restaurant hopping, etc. He also runs “Boaters helping boaters” and the 17 person party bus by land at night. Another option would be to bring your own boat. Very close to the island is a boat ramp at Moundwood State Park. 7490 Edgewater Ave, Huntsville, OH 43324. Lastly, you could rent a boat from any of the local marinas. They have many options to choose from. I recommend “Spend a Day” marina, as they are just 5 minutes from the island. They are across the lake but close to a lot of fun restaurants and the pool bar. You will be able to park at any of the marinas while renting the boat or at Fox Island if you use the water taxi, which will be in site from the island- very close. If you like Glamping, this place is for you! GLAM: feel like an elite on your own island! Enjoy the deck with sunrise, and the firepit with a sunset. Revel in the beautiful lux house and cozy cottage! CAMP: be ready for the unexpected and some inconveniences. I believe this place has immense potential – but needs some more TLC and fixes before it can be a true 5-star rating. Right now, if you know what you’re getting into, and don’t mind it – it’s AMAZING. Glamp it up and enjoy all the best aspects of lake life! We’re told this is the first year for them, and they seem to be dealing with start-up issues. While the property manager, Regan, is responsive, not all issues could be fixed quickly. It feels like the property owners bit off more than they could chew and were preemptive in putting this listing on VRBO, but we believe this place will be a true luxurious gem once it’s fully ready. We had issues with the filtered water losing pressure, so were left with well water for drinking for a few hrs. The HVAC changed on its own at times - and some of the vents pumped hot air despite being set on cool. The water heater errored out, but once reset, we had hot water again for showers. Once, at 4am, smoke detectors in the cottage went off for no reason with no way to reach them on the high ceilings. A few rocks around the firepit cracked and exploded when our fire got really hot. But, with every issue brought up to Regan, she was quick to respond and try to help resolve issues. ##### Kate C.
