Anciens wagons transformés en chambres d'hôtel au coeur du pays Amish. Atypique et amusant. Simple mais propre. Bon accueil et restauration sur place, dans un wagon bien sûr, qui siffle de temps en temps ! Très beau musée ferroviaire aux alentours.

Atypique et très sympa ! Nous avons logé dans 1 wagon avec nos 4 enfants sans aucun problème, tout le monde était ravi ! Très bon état de propreté de notre wagon, région très calme (au milieu des champs des Amish), restau agréable... Bref, nous recommandons !

Always a pleasure staying here. Clean rooms, friendly staff and nicely kept grounds. Near area attractions, yet not near the highway. A nice getaway that never disappoints!

Excellent property & customer service. Stayed in a railcar with 2 double beds and a bunk bed! Had meals in a railcar! Free petting zoo! Buggy ride to amish farm! Just awesome!

Really enjoyed our stay here, nice and quiet countryside. Close to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and Strasburg Railroad, walking distance to the model train museum. The beds were comfortable and we had everything that we needed in our caboose. The restaurant was great and they have a lot of fun items in the gift shop.

There was a small petting zoo. The restaurant was fun in a train car. Food yummy. Nice gift shop! Our train car needs a new mattress. Unique experience. Close to town.

The staff are very warm and welcoming! The place is surrounded by nature, with a gorgeous view of green lands and farms. We stayed in the farmhouse, which was simple, neat, and clean. Although the bathtub looked old, it worked fine, and I just wanted a clean place to rest. There are a few animals you can pet and feed, making it a nice experience!

My husband and I stayed the weekend. We enjoyed staying in a authentic train car. The motel is close to Strasburg railroad and museums with trains big and small. Many eating options on the property and near by. What we didn't like was the hard beds and scratchy sheets. The property is beautiful and the staff were very nice and upbeat.

Caboose was clean. Very quaint and comfortable. There were different set ups. Ours had 2 rooms with a double bed in each. Ac in each room and tv in one of them. Small bathroom and a small vanity, perfect size for a caboose.

Welcoming and informative staff. My sons loved staying in a caboose (big train fans). We stayed one night but wouldn’t stay for more than two with toddlers. There is a playground for them to go on but the space inside is tight for hyper toddlers. It fit our needs for our trip. Our main focus was on the railroad and that is just a minute drive away. We do plan on staying again in the future.

The Red Caboose is a cute spot to stay outside of Lancaster. We were in town for the Sight & Sound Theatre, and this is really the BEST location. It was a quick five-minute drive. The caboose was comfortable and had everything we needed. Fancy? Not really, but you don’t always need fancy. The staff were wonderful and helpful. Honestly, everyone in Lancaster is so friendly. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast too, and really enjoyed it. It was enough food to last us through the day.

This hidden little gem is a must. If you are even remotely close to its vicinity, make it a point to stay at the red caboose Inn for a unique experience that has a trifecta of a clean room, a great restaurant and fabulous gift shop. There are a few farm animals there to feed and pet as well as a view of an Amish farm. It is conveniently located next to the Strassburg railroad museum. We will definitely be back!
