About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
Welcome to your serene escape in the Blue Ridge Mountains! This beautifully updated 4-bedroom farmhouse sits on five private acres, just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Roanoke. Enjoy the charm of a historic home paired with modern comforts.
Wake up to mountain views, sip your morning coffee on the porch, and relax under the stars in the private hot tub. It’s the perfect retreat for those seeking peace, nature, and a touch of history in Virginia’s scenic highlands.
The Space:
With 3 queen beds, 1 bunk bed, and 1 twin bed, this house sleeps up to 9 but is still cozy enough for two. The main level has a large kitchen-dining area overlooking the backyard and the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are large antique windows throughout the house with beautiful light and views of the yard and farm from every window. While you will see plenty of deer, you won't see any neighbors!
As you come in the back door, you will enter the large mud room, with plenty of space to drop off your things off and get situated. The kitchen/dining room and the powder room are both right off the mud room, so you have easy access to and from the kitchen if you are grilling outside or need to unload the car.
In the kitchen you'll find a full size refrigerator, range, dishwasher, buther block countertops and plenty of cabinet and counter space, including a coffee bar with a coffee grinder for that morning brew. The solid dining room table seats 6 comfortably and is also a great place to set up your laptop. You'll have beautiful views through the bay window into the backyard as well as views of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Going through the mud room, you will enter the den where there is a glass-top desk where you can also set up a laptop. The main bedroom is off this den. This main bedroom has a queen bed and its own bathroom with a full size shower.
Through the den, you will go into the living room where you can enjoy watching shows on the oversized couch. Through the living room and up the stairs are the other 3 bedrooms and bathroom. The 2nd and 3rd bedroom both have queen beds, ceiling fans and plenty of dresser space. The 4th bedroom (the triple bunk room) actually comes off of the 3rd bedroom, as was a common layout in houses of this era (used to be a bedroom/nursery).
Out back, there is abundant outdoor space with picnic tables, a propane grill, wood firepit and hot tub.
At the farm, you can relax in the evenings watching TV, soaking in the hot tub, watching the sun set over the back yard and roasting s’mores by the fire. There are board games & cards for the family to enjoy. The living room TV has a Nintendo Classic Edition with 30 games from the 80s and 90s. Relive the games from your childhood!
Guest Access:
Guests have use of the entire house.
Other Things to Note:
Events are allowed, please contact us for details before booking.
Please note that the barn is accessed via a separate driveway and is not part of the stay. Owner may access the barn periodically during your stay. Due to the size of the property and need for ongoing outdoor maintenance there may be land and other exterior maintenance activities (mowing, driveway raking, clearing of brush, hot tub maintenance, trash pickup, etc.) during your time at the farm. This will only occur during normal daytime hours to minimize any impact on you.
Reservations of 90 days or more require a signed lease agreement prior to the start of the stay. We will send this lease to you immediately after booking. Please message us if you are interested in reviewing this lease prior to booking.

The property was so beautiful and the house was very clean with a lot of amenities. The host, Peter, was extremely responsive, accommodating, and kind. Would absolutely come back!
Great unique property. We stayed this past weekend to see my father for his 80th bday. The location was close to their house and really worked out well. Beautiful!
We had a great time and enjoyed our stay. The property owner, Peter, was awesome. Very helpful and friendly. Location was great as well - convenient to downtown. This property is great for travelers with dogs. We will definitely stay here again.
Our group came into town for a softball tournament and had a great time staying at the farmhouse! The house and hot tub were perfect, and the host had great communication throughout. Would highly recommend to all.
My husband and I along with our pups visited the Farmhouse for the 2nd time. The owner of home is attentive to his Renters and has equipped the home with everything you may need. The location is convenient to Route 220 and you will have many choices for eating and shopping. The farmhouse was a very nice stay along the BRP.
The Farm was the perfect place for our family of five as we visited our extendwd family in Roanoke. The location was ideal for our needs and we enjoyed the feeling of being in the woods yet close to civization. The house was spaciois and was well appointed.
A private secluded conveniently located oasis that is perfect for friends and family to reconnect. The picnic tables, fire pit, hot tub, ample parking and room to roam are difficult to find so close to Roanoke and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We were in Roanoke for my daughter’s wedding. We enjoyed staying at this property. It is a very quiet and peaceful location which we needed after all the wedding festivities. We will be back
We stayed at the Private Farmhouse while attending our son's college graduation. The home, property, and property manager were exceptional! We even had to adjust our stay and communication was prompt and generous with options. The property was immaculate and so beautiful. It is close to everything, quiet, and the views are amazing. We loved waking up to the view of the Blue Ridge mountains right outside the bedroom window! We highly recommend this property! You will not be disappointed with your stay and the hospitality.
The property is great! Really enjoyed being able to have the dogs with us and there is plenty of room to take them for a walk on the property. The house is really charming with very nice updates. The kitchen is well appointed and very spacious. Communication with the owner/host leading up to check- in was fantastic. Look forward to returning someday and enjoying more of the area.
My husband and I loved our stay here (and so did our dog)! The farmhouse had plenty of space both with number of rooms but also the common areas (kitchen, tv room, sitting room). The fenced in area was perfect for our dog too. We loved how close the house was in proximity to places we hiked, ate, and the antique stores explored. You could hardly hear the traffic on 220 which was great for a relaxing evening in the hot tub. Highly recommend!
We had a really stay at The Farm. The house is bigger than it looks and with 2 floors there was plenty of shared and private space. We mostly cooked at the house (loved the grill!) after attending a convention conveniently only 5 minutes from the house. The yard was really lovely and enjoyed the quiet and the spotting of deers. Highly recommend!!
We were thrilled with our weekend at this property. The outdoor space was well kept and perfect for entertaining and relaxing. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit with smores, and beautiful sightlines as the fall colors started to reveal themselves.
The inside was very clean and well appointed. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the large kitchen and living room. Bedrooms and bathrooms provided everything we needed. We would love to stay here again and will definitely recommend this property to friends and family.
This property was PERFECT for our family get together over the Christmas holiday. The home was spacious, with a large and well-stocked kitchen. The location was also ideal. The Farm vibe felt very welcoming, and though we were all traveling, it actually felt like we had all come home for Christmas. The location makes you feel like you are out in the country, but it was still close to commerce when we needed to pick up groceries. The owner made our stay extra special by putting up a Christmas tree, complete with lights. The Farm will definitely be our home away from home whenever we are in Roanoke.
We've spent an extended weekend end of March at this charming farmhouse to celebrate a birthday and explore some mountain biking in the area. The house was super clean and very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable, only wished for some blinds or curtains in the upstairs bedrooms. Lovely farmhouse kitchen with a wonderful view out the bay window, perfect for birdwatching. I can only imagine how nice it will be when all the leaves on the trees are in. We did not use the hot tub but enjoyed the large outdoor space for grilling and sitting around a campfire. Highly recommended!
Peter was so amazing throughout the booking process and stay! He was very accommodating and communicated with us in a timely manner. He house was so cozy, we felt like home despite all the wedding madness that went on. The land is just as beautiful as inside the house and my only regret is not booking our stay longer. Coming back to the property was definitely a saving grace as it was a safe place for my husband and I to have a moment to ourselves. This is now our go to place in Roanoke for not only my husband and I, but our families and friends that stopped by and fell in love as well.
This was one of the best places we've ever stayed! The host Peter was very accommodating and was so helpful getting us in last minute after we had to leave a terrible property that we had also booked through VRBO. The house is on about 5 acres of quiet, private land with a family of deer that regularly visited us in the mornings to graze. The house is great! Very comfortable beds and fully stocked for families including a beautiful renovated kitchen, outdoor grill and a fantastic hot tub. The kids had a blast exploring the property and watching the wildlife. Will definitely be staying here again the next time we need a place in Roanoke.
The Farm was just wonderful! Just as described and backed up to the woods. Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to a power outage from Winter Storm Blair but we fell in love with the place. Peter was the absolute best host! We weren’t home at the time the power went out and Peter called us directly. He went above and beyond helping us. Going so far as to bring us a blanket we had left behind. I can’t say enough great things about the property and the host! It’s a wonderful place and we plan on going back in better weather!
With all the personality of an old farmhouse, but also the modern upgrades that bring the comfort of home, this is one of the most charming places I have ever booked!
Check in was super easy. There was not excessive communication from the host which was perfect for me. I knew how to get in and there was a paper that told me everything I needed to know for my stay.
The outdoor fire pit/hot tub/picnic table area was great for relaxing in the evening time. There was plenty of room in the home for my family of 6 to sleep and hang out.
It is an extremely private setting in the beauty of the tress. Add to that the proximity of Roanoke and the Blue ridge parkway, this is a fantastic place to stay!
As someone who lived in Roanoke, I can tell you there is no better listing for a family vacation. The property is beautiful and ‘peaceful’ just doesn’t do it justice. With the Blue Ridge boundary located on the back of the property, it’s made for an adventures spirit.
The nearest entry/exit point to access the parkway for a beautifully scenic drive is less than a 1/4 mile away and everything else you could want to do or have access to in-town is a simple 15-20 minute drive. With downtown being even closer.
Truly the whole experience from renting to our stay was great. Wonderful communication with the owners/property managers and home that is so well stocked I couldn’t think of anything else we truly would’ve needed.
We will absolutely be back and hope to continue renting this property for our family visits for years to come!
