The basic rooms are just that very basic with a minimum of conveniences. . At that price, I would have expected either a larger room or room was even a towel rack in the bathroom to hold towels. Small things like that make all the difference.

Hotel was nice. We stayed in one of the 2 BR apartments with our own private hot tub. Plenty of space, lots of privacy. Staff was really nice, friendly and helpful. Restaurant has a good selection. We chose Hella bc of its location between Reykjavik and Vik, where we had some excursions planned. There isn’t a ton to do in Hella but it was a great location for our purposes.

This hotel was perfect - we stayed in a two bedroom apartment. The food choices were great - we ate in the Bistro for dinner and enjoyed the buffet breakfast (which was included in the room rate). The hotel was clean and had all the necessary amenities & the staff was very friendly!

This is a very good hotel, both in terms of geographical environment and hotel facilities. They are all impeccable, especially since it has two hot pools and two saunas. If it is an apartment, it also has a private hot pool. Bathrobes are also provided in the room. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast in the morning was also very rich and delicious. Since I was a premium member, I got two free drinks in each room. It is highly recommended. For dinner, the hotel also provides catering. If you need another option, you can have dinner at a restaurant near the hotel. If you don't want to go out, you can just enjoy it directly at the hotel.

Overall, great overnight stay in Hella. Good varied breakfast included. Small but comfortable room. We did see the northern lights, and loved that the hotel had a northern lights passage you could scope them out from. Apparently you can get on a call list to get the notification if the lights are seen but we used an app. Hot tubs were lukewarm which was disappointing.

Great place to stay in between Reykjavik and Vik. Ask to be put on the lights list and they will call you if someone reports seeing lights at night. Great breakfast and friendly staff.

Nice place to stay.
A nice but busy hotel also used by coach tours. However those people appeared to vanish as we did not have to wait long for a table at dinner, nor breakfast. The breakfast is an all you can eat buffet, which is great for a day on the road. Didn't use the spa facilities, no time.

Beautiful hotel. Easy checkin. They even have a Northern Lights list you can put your room on to be woken up if the northern lights appear late at night! Bed was comfortable. The breakfast was a lovely spread of most anything you would want. Would recommend this location to friends and would stay there again.

We loved everything about this hotel. The rooms were up to date and clean. The spa was an added bonus. The breakfast was excellent! We will definitely stay here again! The only negative was paying for robes to wear to the hot tubs.

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise on our trip. We had weather issues with our flight and got there very late. Contacted the hotel and they were quick to respond and super accommodating about it. Hotel is very nice. Our room was clean and well appointed. Staff was great from start to finish. We stayed in 8 hotels during our trip and Stracta had the best breakfast buffet of them all. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Overall, we had a good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast in the morning - those were our highlights! The first room we were in was not clean enough - there was mold around the bathroom floor and windows. They accommodated our request to move and the second room was better. The saunas were not working when we visited, which was disappointing. It was a convenient place to stay on our trip through the south coast. The bed was clean and comfortable and it was quiet!

The hotel was a perfect spot for an overnight after a day of exploring the Golden Circle. There is a complimentary spa and hot tub to use. I forgot to ask, but apparently you can ask for Northern Light wake-up call. There is dining on-site. The complimentary breakfast had a wide selection to choose from. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a pleasant stay.
