About this property

BEST DEAL ON THE CAPE. 200 STEPS TO THE BEACH, NOT A 6 MIN DRIVE. PETS OK.

  • "Banyan Beach Cottage" - Enjoy beautiful sunsets over the gulf from the spacious wrap around decks on both levels of this beautiful home on Cape San Blas.

This spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath home features gorgeous cathedral post and beam ceilings in living/dining room and master suite. Lovely flagstone fireplace and hardwood floors in living room. Large flat screen, smart TV with Bose surround sound system over the fireplace. Sliding doors in living room open onto covered deck with plenty of seating. There is a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Leather sectional includes two recliners.

Kitchen, baths, hallway and laundry area have new tile floors. Kitchen is generously stocked. Both main level bedrooms have queen-size beds along with twin roll-aways. Beautiful master suite on upper level has king-size bed, with double sinks and closets in the newly remodeled master bath. All bedrooms are equipped with new smart TVs with remotes and have sliding glass doors which open onto the deck. There is also a ceramic-tiled laundry area on the second floor.

VRBO incorrectly states our property is a 6 mile drive to the beach (see pictures). We are just steps to the beach at the end of our private road. This home has plenty of parking for a small boat or jet ski and is a short distance to the state park’s public boat launch. Banyan Beach is professionally landscaped and has an outdoor hot and cold shower and gas grill. Conveniently located two blocks to grocery/sundry stores (including a seafood company) on the Cape but only 20 minutes from more shopping in Port St. Joe or 30 minutes from Appalachicola's restaurants and shops.

This house was perfect for our family! It was in a great location for all the places we visit while in Florida. Everyone had plenty of space, but the living room was wonderful for gathering in the evening. We will absolutely be returning!

Wonderful Beach House

Banyan Beach house is even better than the pictures. It is spacious and so well stocked with plenty of nice pans, dishware, coffee cups, flatware and cooking utensils along with both a keurig and a Mr. Coffee maker. There are extra blankets and pillows to select from choose from.

Gran’s get-away

Just because this property is not directly beachfront,it is only steps to the beautiful beach, it may be the nicest on Aruba Drive. The property was extremely clean very well stocked and the pictures don’t do justice to the size of the property. I cannot thank the owner enough for making this a perfect family vacation!

Heaven

We enjoyed our stay at Banyan Beach House so much. The house is so spacious with decks all round. The swing on the deck is just heavenly. Location is a plus. A very, very short walk to the beach! And last but not least is the ease of booking our stay. Paul was so easy to work with and responded to inquiries quickly. Will certainly stay again!

Family Vaca

Property management was excellent and super responsive. Home needs a lot of updates. Notes not to close bedroom doors, closet door fell off, during rain storm water was leaking from light above sink. Needs a deep clean. Dog poop on top deck and lots of stained carpet. Reasonably priced.

The owner was very responsive to an issue with a toilet not flushing correctly and somebody was there to fix it the following day. The house inside was nice but needs a deep clean. The bed skirt in the first bedroom has a stain that can’t be missed when making the bed. In the master bedroom there were feathers and an uncrustable wrapper on the floor at the head of the bed. Thick dust and cobwebs on the fireplace mantel. I cleaned these myself as I always leave a house cleaner than I found it and feel housekeeping should have caught these in a routine inspection after guests checkout. The description claims the house is newly renovated and has new appliances. I don’t find this to be true. The pictures the owners have showing the view from the second deck claims you can see the sunset over the gulf. This picture is pre 2007. Many houses now block that view. Just check google earth history and it will confirm this timeline. Description also claims professional landscaping. There is no landscaping. The decks are questionable in many areas and the stair railing is wobbly. The chairs on the first deck near the entry door were very wobbly and not really usable. I personally would not rent this house again.

Family Gathering Place by the Sea

Our whole family enjoyed a long weekend in Cape San Blas. The house is exactly as depicted. The master bedroom and bath was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The kitchen had every thing needed. The only reason not 5 stars was that it is not ocean front. A new house under construction blocks the view of the Gulf But from the upper deck still got amazing views of the sunset. We were a little concerned that because pets are allowed there might have been pet odors but I have to say that if I had not read that pets were allowed we would never have even guessed there had ever been animals in the house. A very good choice for our family. Just a short easy walk to the beach and only about a block from a Trading Post that stocks groceries, tackle, and liquor. I can see us coming back some day. Thank you for making your place available. The Combs family.

Not bad needs updating

Starting out Property manager had very good communication but when it came time to check in there was no update and we were stuck outside of the rental for almost 2 hours. The property manager would not answer his phone and customer service was no help whatsoever in fact they were awful it was so bad that we thought we were getting scammed because we've never used to be VRBO before. After multiple tries we finally got ahold of the property manager and we were able to get our key to get in. The stay at the beach house was nice but it needs a lot of updating and TLC it wasn't the cleanest so I spent most of the time sanitizing when we first arrived. We also felt uncomfortable being on the deck because there were a few banisters that weren't attached and it seemed like the deck would fall apart. As far as location it is in the best spot only a 3 minute walk from the beach. Other than that my family and I had a great time and there is a lot of room in this rental.
