We’ve stayed in other Arlo properties before and have been very pleased. This one is located on a main street that is very noisy at night. The doors are also very loud so neighbouring rooms can be heard.
The staff member who also checked us in, wasn’t the friendliest - asked if I had just made my reservation when I made it months ago and kept saying she “couldn’t find my reservation” - wasn’t the best first impression at all. Meanwhile we can hear the next customer beside us getting a free upgrade.
The location is great if you’d like to be near millennium park and don’t mind noise.
We proceeded to stay in other hotels outside of the city that had way better customer service then what we experienced, and much more affordable too.

At check-in, Alexander at the front desk was very personable and helpful. There is a public parking garage immediately across the street which made it really convenient. The hotel also offered a discount for the parking. The room is spacious and clean. The rooftop on the 27th floor has amazing views. The glass platform is really cool. I would definitely stay at this Riu hotel in Chicago again.
