Royal Beacon Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Had a really good week at the Royal Beacon. The hotel and staff were great. Nothing was too much bother. Lovely location with a short walk to a decent restaurant. Only downside was the parking which most of the time would have been impossible to find. Luckily booked on of the few hotel parking spaces. Only about 8 spaces so l would recommend booking early. It’s a pity that the hotel will be closing in October to be turned into apartments. A sad goodbye because we would definitely gone back again. Not very disabled friendly as the one lift from the car park into the hotel was not working and there are a few steps at the front. But all in all a lovely hotel with brilliant staff."
The Devoncourt Resort

"I stayed for a few days in a 1 bedroom apartment with a sea view. It was on the top floor and the stairways leading to it were a bit ropey, but when I got inside I was pleasantly surprised! The apartment was dated but amazingly spacious and clean with everything I needed and more. It had a very handy kitchen area, a dining and sitting area, along with a spacious bedroom with an en-suite and a further bathroom. The view of the sea was amazing. The leisure facilities were exceptional with a lovely indoor pool, where I joined in an aquafit class and there with a Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. There’s also a gym, which I didn’t use but my favourite was the heated outdoor pool. The gardens were also beautiful and there was a little gate at the end which leads to the beach. The staff were all so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help and I was made so welcome when I joined a group of local ladies at the aquafit class. I only had breakfast on one of the mornings but it was very tasty and great value for money. I heard rumours from the locals that the hotel is at risk but hope that isn’t the case, as I would really like to return."

"Great house for a family holiday. We were 3 generations and there was plenty of room. Off street parking for 4 cars. Generous hosts who provide the biggest welcome pack.We all agreed to come back next year."

"Another amazing stay at Sailmakers. 4 adults and 2 children. Accommodation is fantastic and in such a lovely location. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Accommodation is very luxurious and spacious. Great location near beach and town. Everything is within walking distance. Communication with Ruth was great. Would recommend and we will definitely be back."
