What a great way to wind up the trip! Donnatella and he husband are marvelous! Donnatella is a wonderful cook, I highly recommend eating with them at every opportunity. The property is just outside of the small village of Solomeo, near Perugia. It is quiet and relaxing. We made friends with Mema, the kitty in residence, and she was fine company as well. There is a beautiful pool, unfortunately it was too early for it to be open, but it would be wonderful in the summer. Our room was also wonderful and comfortable. If you want to use this as a base it's centrally loated in northern Umbria. A good place to go see Lake Trasimeno, Assisi and the hilltop towns of Umbria, as well as close to a lot of the hill towns of Tuscany. Le buffet de petit dejeuner est complet et comprend outres les croissants et pains locaux, plusieurs gateaux fraichements cuits sur place, jus, etc. Au soir, La cuisine de Donatella est tout simplement rafinée, variée et inspirée d'Ombrie (y inclus la truffe noire...). Sa localisation située entre Sienne, Assise et Orvieto (en plus des villages charmants comme Gubbia ou Tigo) offre une multitude d'excursions culturelles. Nous n'avons malheureusement pas eu le temps de profiter de balades à cheval (un centre equestre est à moins de 5km). Ce sera pour une prochaine fois...? Mais le plus indéniable de l'endroit est outre le calme et la vue sur Perugia, le spa privatisable pendant 1:30 (sur réservation).
