If you are looking for luxury or are the type of person who likes to stay in a hotel the whole day enjoying your room this is not your place! This is a wonderful hotel if your goal is location and convenience to access the best things in the city! The place is simple but comfortable. Do not expect Instagram pictures in your room! The goal is not to have the last design tendency furniture. Everything there can be dated to the being of 2000's or even 1990's. However, everything is clean and works really well. I would suggest picking the lake view rooms because the price is ridiculously cheap given the view. Of course, there is always room for small improvement: I would suggest a blackout curtain, more blankets, and a little door entrance mat (we got there in the rain so we messed up the room and had to clean for ourselves). My husband also thought the bed was too soft. However, the bed sheets and towels were clean! For the price, it was exactly what we expected ;)

Customer service was appalling. Hotel was empty, after showing us two rooms, one flooded & one filthy, I asked for part of my money back, they wouldn’t give me a dime! Warning, don’t stay here if you’re looking for a clean place to stay or an honest hotelier with some integrity.

The Golden Sands Resort has a great location. Our room wasn't ready for check-in time however, and the property itself could do with some updating.

The location is right on the beach, but the room wasn’t very clean and only had 2 rolls of toilet paper for 4 people for 3 days. We asked for more and they told us we would have to wait for housekeeping, who never came. The cable was intermittent and the blinds were broken when we got there. The fan in the suite under us was so loud all night.

Was pleasantly surprised that our room was newly renovated and clean. Although the children above us like to run around the wee hours of the morning, it was quite comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again and definitely recommend, but would ask for top floor. Overall, wonderful 😊

It’s a ok place does what it’s intended, very small rooms especially for a family with dogs Beds were unbelievably uncomfortable. However your not in your room much . Excellent location! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Pool was nice!

I booked two kitchenette suites an hour prior to arrival. The staff were angry because Expedia booked rooms that weren't ready and cleaning staff left for the day. Made a big deal about having to stay to clean my room, and I felt bad about that, but it wasn't my fault. It took her MAYBE 10 minutes to do the bare minimum surface cleaning. There were still sandy footprints on the floor from previous guests. One of them yelled at me when I asked where I should park (after complaining about where we parked) and also when I thought I had pre-paid. It was an honest mistake, I didn't see the tiny print saying to pay on arrival (it asked for my credit card info and my last booking was prepaid so I thought this one was too). I have no idea why she was so hostile and rude to me, I tried to be patient and accommodating. Room did not look like advertised, very shabby and run down. Dirty, broken/mismatched dishes/cookware. I ended up paying higher rates than listed on their website so now I feel disrespected AND ripped off. A domestic situation happened in the room right next to me involving threats of violence and a baby. I struggle with anxiety and PTSD and this entire situation made me feel unsafe, triggered, and distressed. Was supposed to be a day to visit my father's grave for the first time and this experience RUINED my special moment. Nobody ever apologized to me for yelling at me. Worst motel experience EVER! I have never been so disrespected. I am still so very upset.

Priced too high for what you get. Lacked essentials like bath mat. We had to ask for coffee, soap, and shampoo. Bed mattress is uncomfortable. No mattress cover. Location was great as we had a beach and restaurant.

There was no person at reception when we were going to check in. We had to call a number to get someone to office. Room was fairly clean but handles on fridge and kitchen cabinets needed cleaning. There were no pots at all in the room. Only one towel provided for a 4 person checkin. However, location is spectacular.

The ONLY thing going for this property is the location. The overall property condition, staff attitude, and room quality are poor. Areas of the grounds look abandoned, dirty and unsafe for young children. The check in staff were bordering on rude when we asked to check in at 2pm or as soon as possible after that. We were told to come back at 4pm and were not allowed to leave luggage until then. Even at 4pm their computer “crashed” so we waited another 20 minutes to get a key. The room had 3 refrigerators of varying sizes for some reason with 1 working. The lamp on the bedside table appears to be a prop as there was no where to plug it in. Coffee machine but no coffee etc. staff smoking in non smoking areas. No thanks!

WE stayed for 2 nights. Room had a full kitchen with dishes, fridge, kettle, stove. Parking was hard to find, not too many spots. Right across the beach, close to restaurants and other attractions. Overall we had a nice stay. It was quiet at night.
