You instantly get that countryside feel with spectacular views and lots of walks from the doorstep, or within a short drive. The cottage is on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is perfectly located for exploring the beautiful local countryside. Cycling is popular in the area. For the less active, a visit to Ilkley, known for the famous Cow and Calf Rocks overlooking the town and legendary Betty’s Cafe Tea Rooms are certainly worth visiting. Down the river Wharfe lies the lovely market town of Otley, offering a variety of shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs. Bolton Abbey is just a short drive away with lots of walks on the magnificent 30,000-acre Devonshire Estate with picture-perfect picnic spots beside the river. The charming market town of Skipton, also known as ‘the gateway to the Dales’, is just 25 minutes away and is home to an ancient castle, cobbled high street, fish and chip shops and a colourful street market. There are golf courses, fishing, reservoir, hill and river walks not forgetting several charming country pubs close by.
