Entstanden ist die Anlage aber schon im 13. JH wahrscheinlich als eine von der Würm (kleiner Fluss im Westen Münchens) umflossenen Motte mit einem steinernen Wohnturm. Nach 1431 wurde die Pluedenburg, wie sie da hieß, von Herzog Albrecht III zu einem Landsitz ausgebaut. Den 30 jährigen Krieg bestand sie unbeschadet, auch wenn oft zu lesen ist, dass sie zerstört wurde. Nach wechselnden Besitzer waren in der Burg bis 1957 das Institut der englischen Fräulein danach der Altersruhesitz der Schwestern des dritten Ordens.
