LOCAL QUIRKS | WHAT TO EXPECT Life in Nosara is relaxed and full of charm — but it comes with a few quirks! You may experience dust, bugs, or brief power, water, or internet outages. Construction noise is also possible between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. as the area continues to grow. If reliable internet is essential, consider adding a mobile data plan. Please note that local septic systems don’t allow toilet paper to be flushed — bins are provided. These are normal aspects of life in Costa Rica and outside our control, so refunds aren’t offered for such occurrences. It’s a large 2 bedroom with a patio in front, we never used it as it was the wet season and the area not just the property is overrun with mosquitoes and other biting bugs. Make sure you bring strong bug spray!! Great restaurants are all around and you don’t need a car. Save the money on a rental and use the Tuk Tuks that are available. House is located in a very busy area, and it was loud late at night and early in the morning. I also had problems with other renters on the property parking in the driveway.
