I left my phone charger in the room, messaged the hotel the same day to collect it on my way back through Amsterdam but got no reply despite several messages.

During the tulip period at least, the countryside is magnificent. The vivid colours of the fields are stunning. Make sure to rent a bike and enjoy the countryside at a proper pace to take it all in. Definitely the highlight of our trip.
