The best time to visit Nigüelas is during spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the natural beauty of the Lecrín Valley is at its peak.Spring brings mild temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities. The valley's orange and lemon groves are in blossom, filling the air with a wonderful fragrance, and the surrounding hills are lush and green. This is a great time for couples who enjoy walking or cycling through the picturesque villages and olive groves.Autumn offers similarly comfortable temperatures, usually between 18°C and 28°C, with slightly cooler evenings. The landscape takes on beautiful golden and russet hues as the leaves change, and the grape harvest season adds to the local character. This period is superb for travellers looking to explore the local culture and cuisine, perhaps visiting a local olive oil mill or enjoying the harvest festivals that often take place. While summer (July and August) can be quite warm, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, it's still a popular time for those who enjoy the heat and want to take advantage of the village's proximity to the coast for beach days, which are just a 30-minute drive away.
