Delta Hotels by Marriott Newcastle Gateshead
Negatives: Very dated and unclean room. Split drink all down the side of the bed which hadn’t been cleaned and bottle/food under the bed. Was also a noise buzzing constantly all evening, I had to turn the air conditioning on to drown it out. Queen size bed in room was very uncomfortable. Very bad ...

Maldron Hotel Newcastle
Only a 10 min walk from the train station. Easy to find. Good sized rooms and clean. Bed a bit small, soft and sunk to the middle but fine for one night. Great breakfast.

Spacious room complete with 2 easy chairs and a table. Bay window offered clear views up and down the Tyne....sort of like being in a cruise ship cabin.
