Our location is a 5 acre piece of agricultural land. Quietly nestled into the heart of the Picayune Strand State Forest, of the well known Naples area. One of the few pieces of a quiet, wilderness retreat, left in the area. We operate off the grid, but have a generator for limited use for electricity! With a press of a button, the treetop room is equipped with lights, a fan. We have solar lights, installed throughout. Offer a bbq grill, Coleman propane cook stove. It’s an experience like no other! The room is located in a second story tree top building, that overlooks our private pond, our 5 acre farm, and a turquoise lake in the distance. Its a completely private one bedroom, space, with access to a common space bathroom/ Rec Room. There is a large shower stall, 2 stall cammodes, and a double sink vanity. There is also a common patio sitting area. The property is also listed on Hip Camp, and we welcome campers and Rvspots. It could be considered a private campground. You could have the place to yourself or there could be other guests on the property. None the less, everyone respects your spaces. Come & enjoy the piece of quiet, and get back to nature, through your stay with us. We are located 25 minutes from the heart of Naples, Marco Island, the surrounding Gulf Beaches, and many many nature preserves: Corkscrew Sanctuary, Big Cypress, Fackahatchee..... Bring your walking shoes, your binoculars, and your camera to capture all the beautiful wildlife right out your door. This location is not for everyone, do to the limited amenities, and location. We are located within the Everglades. We also share the property with other guests of interest, such as campers. The common space area is a general area for our all our guests to use during their stay. There is NO potable water, NO constant electricity, NO private kitchen/bath facilities. This is a nice well equipped camp cabin, nothing more. It is noisy during the day. The biggest problem, though, is that at night, they allowed a local drunk to park his truck and trailer inside the gate, and he blocked the entire drive so that no one could come or go, fell asleep, and lost his car keys. Imagine our chagrin when the next morning, we had to be somewhere at a specific time and couldn't get out! After complaining to the owner later that day, we were assured that we would be able to get out of the gate the next morning to catch our flight, only to find it locked again, this time without the drunk. We made our flight. The place itself wasn't bad; in fact, it was nicely appointed if your expectation was that you were going camping. However, the property was noisy, dusty, and quite isolated. We felt like we were in a tree house. We loved our stay!! This property is 20 minutes outside of Naples or Marco island so it might not be the correct choice for those wanting to be near the action. We spotted 7 alligators in the pond in front of our property. One nearly always stayed just off the end of the deck. This did not bother us at all. We like to watch them, the fish and the turtles that were easily seen. The bathroom is down the stairs and in another building. There were two toilets and they were covered by curtains rather than doors. The shower was the same. If you are super worried about your privacy, this may bother you. This is the only room on the property but there were a number of campers (tent and RV) also on the property and they had use of the bathroom facilities and cooking area. This did not seem to be a problem. Since the generator only runs for short periods, don't plan on charging your phone in your room. This property is unique, clean and quiet. The pace was definitely slower out there and that is just what we needed. The very clean upper-level bedroom and balcony take in a view of an adjacent pond and garden as well as a beautiful nearby lake. We had use of an adjacent building that has a shower/bathroom, kitchen, patio, and grill. We stayed in one night, grilled and enjoyed a beautiful sunset dinner on the balcony. As described on the site, it is very remote but is a quick drive to restaurants and grocery stores. We preferred to pick up any amenities we needed on our way to the property and not make the trek back out. There is a locked, gated fence around the property so we felt very safe. It is a very relaxed setting with homey touches such as battery operated candles in the room, comfortable bed with clean sheets and an entertaining flock of chickens. We recommend this place without hesitation to anyone that loves nature. As described on the site, be sure you understand that it is not for everyone since it is off the grid. Amanda was very responsive and helpful when we had questions. We had trouble with traffic and checked in late, which is more difficult as we had to learn how things worked in the dark, but she was gracious and worked things out with us. ##### Kayla D. The light-filled airy bedroom is AMAZING and overlooks the pond. The chickens out back by the spacious kitchen and patio area and crows in trees next to the bedroom are your alarm clock so bring ear plugs! Crickets at night. A cool reservoir with lots of birds and crocodile down the road. Being on the edge of Picayune State Forest makes it an excellent location with lots more privacy than your average hotel. For closest beaches, Marco Island was much preferred over going into big and busy Naples. This is one special and unique place, but if you like hotel amenities and a desk clerk this may not be for you.
