"All the outdoor furniture (table and benches) on the terrace (including the wood deck) were completely covered in yellowish dusty pollen and had to be cleaned in order to be used. We sat down unknowingly and our clothes got really dirty from all the pollen. The rubber outdoor sandals were only one size and too small. I’m a womens US size 9 or 39 European size. I had enormous trouble signing into my YouTube account on the tv, which wasn’t the case last time I stayed at a different Rakuten stay...

"とても親切なご主人で気持ちよくご対応いただきました。ただ、設備の古さは否めないためご利用の際は事前に理解しておくことをお勧めします。特に水回りについては他の方も書かれている通りで、水圧はかなり低く、シャワーヘッドを真横に向けてもユニットバスの反対側の壁に水が届かないくらいです。懐かしの混合水栓なので湯温の調整は手動。これが困ったことにお湯側の蛇口を回して適温にしようとしても、あるところより1mm多く開くと触れないくらい熱くなり1mm戻すとぬるい…という状態で、結局真冬の寒さの中ぬるくて弱いシャワーを浴びることになりました。また、朝食付きにしたかったのですがご事情があったのか対応困難とのことで諦めて別途外で食べることになりました。その点も予約後に判明すると困る方もいるかも知れませんので事前の確認をお勧めします。繰り返しますがご主人のご対応はとてもよかったので、設備に目をつぶればお勧めできる宿です。"

"The staff were friendly and the breakfast was simple (green salad, two egg fries, bread with butter and jam, fruits, and a pot of coffee or black tea) but delicious. "Pros: • The villa is very clean and spacious. The view from the windows is beautiful — you can even see the snowy mountains. • The staff is kind and helpful. Cons: • A smartphone is provided for communication with the staff, but we didn’t receive a response when we sent a question at night. • The latest check-in time is 10:00 PM, which is not very traveler-friendly. That said, the staff did agree to wait for us when we called to ask about checking in at 10:30 PM."

"If you're looking for an onsen experience this is the place! We were welcomed as we drove up the windy mountain road to the hotel. The check in experience was calm and efficient. Dinner, breakfast and private bath times chosen. The baths are wonderfull, overlooking the river and with views down the forested valley. Dinner and breakfast were amazing, although our kids sadly didn't feel adventurous enough. It was a truly magical experience on our first trip to Japan."

"There are a lot of clutter in the hotel lobby, which makes it feel messy. The hotel looks a bit old, though it is clean. I arrived at the hotel after 10 o'clock at night. When I entered the door, I couldn't see the check-in counter. I went to a counter on the right. There was a card showing “ 百名湯認定証 ”, and add water room “加湯室” was behind the counter. I was about to search everywhere I could in the hotel, when suddenly I saw a man at the far end of the left side, so I chased after him and asked if he was a hotel staff. It turned out that the checkin counter was on the left, and I turned the wrong direction and went to the right. I was indeed frightened at that time when I couldn’t see anybody. Checkin was smooth with the help of the staff. If I haven’t been to the wrong direction, everything would be fine. The breakfast is delicious, and it is a semi-self-service style. Milk, rice, miso soup, bread, tea, etc. are all available for self-service. The mountain view from the restaurant is great."
