Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Malake?
The best area to stay in Malake is along the main beachfront, particularly near the resorts on the western side of the island.

This area is the primary tourist hub, offering direct access to the beach and the clearest waters for swimming and snorkelling. You'll find most of the island's amenities, including restaurants and watersports operators, concentrated here. The resorts are typically spread out, providing a sense of space and privacy, with direct pathways leading to the sand.

Couples often find this area ideal for a romantic and relaxing getaway. The beachfront resorts offer stunning ocean views, opportunities for private dinners on the sand, and easy access to activities like sunset cruises and paddleboarding. The emphasis is on comfort and scenic beauty.

For families, staying on the western beachfront is also a great choice. Many resorts cater to families with dedicated swimming pools, activities suitable for children, and spacious rooms.
When is the best time to go to Malake?
The best time to visit Malake, Fiji, is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.

During these months, you can expect less rain, lower humidity, and more sunshine, making it ideal for enjoying the island's outdoor activities and beaches. The temperatures are consistently warm, usually averaging around 25-28 degrees Celsius, and the evenings are pleasantly cool. This period is superb for those looking to enjoy water sports like snorkelling, diving, and sailing, as the calmer seas offer excellent visibility and conditions.

Couples often find this period particularly appealing for a romantic getaway. The consistent good weather allows for uninterrupted enjoyment of the island's natural beauty, from relaxing on the beaches to exploring the lush interiors. Many resorts offer special experiences during this time, taking advantage of the clear skies for stargazing or beachside dinners.

Families travelling with children will also appreciate the dry season. The stable weather means less disruption to planned activities, ensuring everyone can make the most of their time.
